Just went to submit the deal, said there was a dupe. You are quick my friend.

It does say though it's limited time only. So they won't be around for too long.

    • +1

Hopefully it does end up permanent, as lots buy from Dicksmith whenever there is a bargain even though they say they won't. I've just posted it to expire in 180 days as the expiry date is not confirmed.

Lol DSE have enough issues as is with their relationships with existing seperate entities.

I dont expect seamless experiences here

So your first shop at DSE will earn 3.75 and those after first is 2.25%? Pretty good. Better than nothing. eBay is 2%. Hopefully more join and or match the rate. DSE is desperate for biz.

CashRewards have changed their API from XML to JSON without notifying us so we have not been able to pull their rates table for the last couple of days. It's already fixed in the code and once we pushed out the new version of OzBargain you shall see cashback from DickSmith deals.

So… what is a new customer? If you check out as guest, are you "new"? Because some Dick Smith codes can only be used once per account, but that restriction can be circumvented by checking out as guest. So perhaps guests are treated as "new customers"?

My tracking rate for Cashrewards hasn't been great. Maybe 2 / 3 record correctly?

But for stuff you were going to buy anyway surewhynot

    • Got 3 eBays and when they didn't show up after 2 weeks I wrote to them and they asked for proof/invoices. So I screencapped Purchase History and hopefully they'll remedy. Who knows, maybe they randomly not assign the CB in the event people will forget and not chase it up.

  • Will this work with the 20% cashback offer?

    • +1

Only for transactions on the DickSmith website, i.e. not on eBay. CashRewards do however have 2% cashback on eBay.

  • What is cashrewards and what's the positives and negatives of using it? Minimum spend? Selling of your details? Need to get a CCard with them?

    • +2

No, no and no. You set up an account with them, then when you want to purchase something from one of their affiliates, you sign in on the CashRewards website and click on the referral link of the desired store (making sure you still have the CashRewards site open and only purchase through clicking the provided link on the CashRewards site). Then wait 15 or more days, access the CashRewards site, then transfer the funds to your nominated bank account (Direct Deposit).

  • Don't expect to get the cash back through CashRewards any time in the next 2 months. Made some purchases from another retailer on 13 August 2014 and others from various retailers also around that time and i'm still waiting for the cash backs to clear.

    • +2

Depends on the retailer, some are pretty fast - less than a month.

    • +2

It depends on the retailers return policy I presume. I'm still waiting on one from The Iconic - they have a 100 day return policy so I guess the cashback won't confirm until after that period too?

  • +1

Got my cashback from the ebay 15% days after 3 days, they are pretty quick on some sites

    • actual cashback or showing as tracking?

      • +1

Pretty sure he means just tracking it. I'm still waiting for it to clear after 50 days.

        • ebay wait for the paypal dispute period to expire before paying.

  • Good deal if you are buying iPhone 6.

    • im going O/S in early Feb, so Im hanging on until early Dec to buy my iphone6, that way I can also claim back $100 or so on TRS….they only pay for receipts that are within 60 days of your departure.

  • I did a recent order from the Dick Smith web site and cashrewards was charged on the ex GST price as listed on the invoice/paypal receipt. Not the full advertised sale price. Ehere as my purchases from eBay have been calculated at the full listed sales price. Very sneaky of DS.

    Advertised Sale Price $99
    Invoice price $90
    GST/TAX +$9
    Discount -$20
    Sale Price $79
    Expected Cashback AUD $3.37

    Date of Sale: 5/10/2014
    Sale Value: AUD 90.00
    Expected Cashback: AUD 3.37

    • I did a recent order with Dick Smith but it never got tracked.

      • Not sure if you need to but I always leave cashrewards open in browser after selecting retailer I wish to shop with. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Also when I check my account/rewards it shows two chashbacks for the same DSE purchase.

        05 Oct 2014 - Dick Smith Electronics - AUD 90.00 - $3.37 - Pending
        05 Oct 2014 - Dick Smith Electronics - AUD 90.00 - $3.37 - Pending

  • Is this over already? Can't find DSE in Cashrewards any more

    • Yes looks like it's no longer available on CashRewards. StartHere however provides cashback at 2.3%. From experience it could be just some temporary problem between CashRewards, the affiliate network and the merchant.
