Good deal for new, but if you're going to buy an Xbox 360 then have a look on eBay. With so many people upgrading to the Xbox One, the market is flooded with 2nd hand Xbox 360's (often with lots of games, controllers and kinect sensor) and the price is now ridiculously low.

  • +2

Wow now that's a bundle. Did EB forget to add another hundred to that price instead of taking one off?

    • +2

      Agreed. Great bundle indeed! :)

  • I think that's the new rrp for the 360. Good deal with all those games too.

    • Don't think so, all other retailers are $299, and on ebgames site says limited stock

      • +1

I think hes talking about the price drop that was announced last week. Pretty sure these dropped to RRP $199 in the US. Don't know if it was for AU aswell tho.

        • Yes they just announced it from Oct 1. I'm sure the rest of the retailers will follow soon.

        • Actually yeah he's right I think, the Microsoft site now shows $199 too but the only come with 2 games not 4

        • @TRENT86:
Students get 10% off = should be $180 delivered.

Since the games are basically dirt cheap on Ebay not bad if EB run out / you don't have one near.

        • @Merlict: Yeah but the bundled ones have sold out

  • hey I'm trying to pick up a xbox with kinect and maybe a couple of dancing games such as the dance central series. anyone got any recommendations? brand new or second hand :D thanks!

    • xbox one never comes bundled with dancing games so you can either get the x box one Kinect version 20% off now on the dse ebay site http://stores.ebay.com.au/Dick-Smith-Online/_i.html?_sacat=1… $478.40 Then buy you should be able to buy just dance 2015 for around $50 somewhere

      • thanks heaps man, i dont think im quite ready to drop 400+ on a xbox atm, but i'll definite look into it.

        • I'd be grabbing this 250gb bundle, you'll want the HDD for game content & free downloads…then selling/trading the games you don't want & buying the dance games you do want (they're cheap as chips, especially pre-owned from EB)…you might even come out ahead!

At the same time, as Silverrat said, grab yourself a pre-owned Kinect from EB as well…I think I paid $26 for mine, & it was in as-new condition…you won't need the one with the power pack, that's only for the older 360s!

TBH, I really haven't seen a compelling reason to upgrade to a next generation console yet…

          Dance Central Spotlight!

(If I was presented with either a PS4 or Xbox One, I'd pick the latter because of that. And Forza Horizon 2)

        • @silverrat23:

          Dance Central Spotlight!

You wouldn't suggest that if you'd ever seen me dance… ;)

        • @StewBalls:
but then i still need to buy a kinect right? that seems like another $50ish :s
argh i wish i was richer or less stingy :p

        • @tomwhiteallnight: Damn, the price has gone up on the pre-owned ones, I just checked, $46 now: https://ebgames.com.au/xbox360-151784-Kinect-for-Xbox-360-wi…

Kinda sucks, when I bought mine earlier this year they were $26 or $38 with the power pack!!!

        • @StewBalls:
haha nice. i think im gonna hold off for a bit longer until the new price of 360 settles in :p

        • @tomwhiteallnight: Keep shopping around, you might pick up a kinect bundle somewhere too…

For the Kinect, I'd recommend a second-hand one - since you won't be touching it (AT ALL) while playing.

For the Dance Central series, buy the third one (Dance Central 3) and import the songs from the other two games. This can be done by purchasing or borrowing the game (1 or 2) and using the code found on the back. However importing songs still cost on top of that, but it's worth having a large collection without swapping discs.

Dance Central 3 can be had for ~$18 from OzGameShop or $9 from Kmart (if you're lucky).

      • ahhh thanks for the pro tip man. I'll probably looking into this and end up buying a second hand one i think. any idea on which console i should get? cause it ranges from 4gb to 250 :s…

        • +3

For importing songs, you will need a lot of room.

Each game's import songs (every song from Dance Central 1 or 2) file size are roughly 800MB, but I don't remember too well.

I'd say a 250GB model. The price difference between the 4GB and 250 GB is around $20, so in the long run, buying this one will do wonders over deleting and being frugal with space.

        • @silverrat23:
ahh awesome, thanks for the advice.

  • A good deal from EB makes a nice change.

  • Worthless games moneywise, pick them up for $40 all together secondhand. But to a new 360 owner, quality game time no doubt.

$199 + 4 games is dirt cheap….that is even cheaper then the handhelds…proves that PSP and 3DS are overpriced.

    • +1

Or that there are higher costs in screens, batteries and improved miniaturisation? Also that the goal of console sales is to break even by the end and to make profits via game sales.

Whats the modding scene like for xbox nowadays? Does the consolde model/series matter? I would be looking to use it to play 'backup' games and as a media console.

    • Illegal and the quotes will be taken to mean you want to pirate games so wouldn't be surprised if the comment is removed.

    • Instead of asking on a Bargain website, search and ask on a modding/hacking website.

  • sell my 1 year old xbox 360 250GB, 2 controllers 20 more games include halo4, battlefield 4, COD black ops2, fifa14, nba14, Forza Horizon, diablo3, AC3, Batman origin, batman city, batman AA, killer is dead, Tomb Raider etc… All with disks, and also 9 months remaining on my Xbox gold. Coz just bought a PS4, so i will never use my xbox live account anyway.

    • how much :) ?

  • Didn't they have 360 console with batman last Christmas for under $100 after cash back?

    • Yep the 4gb version I think it was

      • Yup BigW $198 before CB.

LOL, a mate got that bundle after MS cancelled his online order…best part was that he'd already submitted the cashback claim for the MS one & they'd shipped his two free games; so still he got the 2x free games + $100 cashback from the refunded MS purchase, plus the $100 for the BigW Batman bundle cashback…so he ended up effectively getting the 360 with 3x games + $2 profit!

I was about to buy another WDTV Live for the bedroom for Netflix access etc. This could be an option at that price. Is the 360 noisy. I recall the original Xbox had a ridiculously loud fan!

    • No, it's not loud. Only if you're playing a disc.

    • That's actually a pretty good idea!

My WD Live is very buggy and needs constant resetting… a cheap 360 in the 2nd room might just do the trick, thanks for the idea!

    • 360 is far noisier than the WDTV, so much so that I got my 360 replaced but the replacement was just as bad. Having said that once the volume is up on a game you don't really hear it but when playing movies the fan whir is annoying during the quieter moments. And if you use the DVD it's even noiser.

I've never had to reboot my WDTV in anger

      • Have you tried the 360 E? It is quieter than the slim and a lot quieter than the original XBox 360.

The 360 has a couple more features that the WDTV Live does not, such as the ability to play games and it can actually play DVD's.
