  • Are you going to post now every night a "Deal" with a different model?

    • Hi, the other products are covered with the 10% discount deal already. :)

      • How do I get the 10% discount ?
I was looking at the FI9805W. Its $184.99 on your website and the same on the Foscam Australia site (but with a free 3m extension cord).

        • Hi,

you just need to apply the coupon to get 10% off when the promotion kicks in. The 10% discount will be applied.

        • @FoscamWA:
Code makes no difference to the price on a FI9805W.
The other site gives a free 3m extension cord for the FI9805W. Will you at least match this?

        • @imp:

          Hi there,

The code you need is "PROMO_FOSCAMWA10OFF2014" from the other deal to get a 10% discount.

Unfortunately we ran out of stock for 3m extension cords.

        • @FoscamWA: so you can send one when you have stock? :)

        • @bnh:

Sorry, the 3m extension cable is not included in this promotion :)

        • @FoscamWA: Pity
          Needed the extension cord.
          Ordering from the other site

    Is this the longest code?

    • I'm waiting for a longer one before I decide to buy

  • Is this 9821v1 or v2 Op?

    • are the optics better in the v2?

      • Optics are normally crap anyway in this kind of CCTV, but Foscam come a long way from where they start and it is good for home user that do not want to invest 3-5K on home monitoring system :)

A few things I found improved when comparing 9821v1 to the 9831 :
        - Image looks sharper on PC screen
        - Better IR performance
        - Audio seems better too.

Also firmware update still available for the 9821v2

        • Yes I see where you're cming from. I noticed on their website there is one model up which has higher resolution and optical zooming. More interested in that one.

The other one that I have been researching lately are the samsung "SNO" IP bullet cams. They go for around $700 - $1000 and looking at the reviews on youtube, seem pretty impressive. A shame we don't seem to have them locally.

          https://www.samsung-security.com/products/security-cameras/n…

        • @highon2str:
I also have the 9826 series.
It is good. but like I said, the optical zoom is next to useless with the inferior optics.
          But for $200 , I can't complain.

Ggood for outdoor unit if you want to read license plate, but anything smaller it is hard to read.

For the Samsung IPcams, there are a few reseller in Australia as my mate have installed them previously for stratas around Sydney.

Try googling the one model number you have in that link :)

        • @bnh:

Wow yeah just had a quick google, looks like the samsung SNO 6084R is over $1200 locally. If I get one it will probably sourced from the US. They are almost half price there!

Is the Foscam 9826 a big step up in terms of quality/resolution? Worth the price premium or does the 9821 do the job just as well at a lower price?

I'm looking to replace a half working Logitech 700e alert system. Good implementation, good price but such horrible quality/reliability and tech support :/

        • @highon2str:
9821V1 is quite good but v2 is better :)
Depending on the area you want to monitor, if normally during daytime they are great.
Night when IR is needed, I would suggest to get the 9831 as the IR throw is much better.

PM me your email address and I will fwd some sample shot when I get access to the 9821 feed as it is offline atm.

The stock on offer are all FI9821W V2. These are new stock that we just brought in as part of our store launch. We do not stock V1s. :)

      • any special deal if I buy more than 1 ? :)

        • +1

Yes I'd be interested in a multi Pack deal too!

        • @highon2str:

Yes, all deals have tier discounts which are stated at the bottom of the product description page. 10% discounts apply on top of these discounts :)

  • anyone have one of these or has used something similar for a baby monitor?

    • Me ! :)
When my son was much younger.

If you buy Foscam camera [or its clone] you can download a free app called Foscam Viewer [ios and android] and you can have audio feed as well.

You will need an existing wifi infrastructure + media to display the feed tho [smartphones, tablet etc], different to baby monitor that has its own screen.

      • thanks bnh! I have all that jazz at home, so it looks alright to me.

    • Foscam indoor cameras have always been famously used as baby monitors :)

    • +2

yep… i have a pan and tilt infared Foscam as a baby monitor!

I figured if I was going to spend over $100 on a baby monitor that will be useless in a few years, I may as well buy a proper IP camera and that way I can use it later (and get much better quality visuals in the process).

Put "Baby" in front of any product and it gives manufacturers a licence to print money.

  • Does the Foscam viewer (in particular for android) support multiple Foscam cameras and also email alerts when motion is sensed? All this without needing a PC to be switched on 24/7?

I do have a 24/7 wifi network and NAS… if these can be integrated at all?

    • The apps support multiple cameras and can display upto 4 at any given time.
Email alerts can be sent via the camera unit itself using via external SMTP server.

For NAS, I dont think it can do direct feed to NAS but definitely it can FTP the recorded images to your NAS FTP server.

Looks like I can become a Foscam sales engineer :)

      • Lol you are certainly helping out the OP a fair bit!

That sounds great. I will need 2 - 3 of them and would be nice to be able to access them through an app! I have a static IP so no need to mess around with dydns (I heard it's not longer free?).

can't seem to send you a PM but anyway I think I should be all right googling or youtubing some screenshots…

      • If you have a Synology NAS then these are great. Some other NAS brands have their own surveillance software built in also.

        • No unfortunately I'm running an HP N54L with FreeNas 64 bit.

      • Yes, I was going to reply to this but you beat me to it :)

It supports Multi-cams. Email alerts are set using the browser.

Foscam is getting too expensive. My first Foscam only cost $60. Sure there are improvements over the years but with over $100 price tag I don't think it's worth the money. I prefer Cybernova 2MP for picture quality. I also used it as baby monitor and the cost is less than $100.

    • im not sure if anyone stock those here - did you import from aliexpress or something similar?

  • Shame it's not the 9831.

  • Multi deals rep? I see this already asked a few times but no response…

    • Yes, all deals have tier discounts which are stated at the bottom of the product description page. 10% discounts apply on top of these discounts :)

  • I just saw that they have an outdoor bullet style fi9805e with an ir cut filter.

This will probably suit my outdoor application better however I will still need another 3 cameras, is the OP able to do packaged deals?

    • Hi, unfortunately the FI9805E is out of stock. but we have the FI9805W which is the wireless model.

We do offer tier discounts which is available at the bottom of the product description and the 10% discount apply on top of the tier discounts :)

      • I've just looked into the wireless model and there seem to be an extraordinary amount of bad reviews on Amazon. From purple imaging to dead cameras and even a whole heap of them dead out of the box. Sounds alot like the logitech alert line of cameras which I've been so frustrated with.

Are these units you're selling the exact same revision or is there a FI9805W v2 which addresses all these issues?

Also, seeing how unreliable they are, I'd be interested to know what your warranty and RMA are like?

        • Hi,

As far as we are aware, this is one of the best selling models from Foscam. That's also the reason why we brought it in for sale. There is no version 2 and Foscam always releases new patches of firmware for any problems reported by all distributors around the world.

We offer 2 year warranty on these models and if your purchased product no longer exist in the 2 year period, we will replace with a new model of that product. :)

Our return policy can be found here

        • @FoscamWA:

Thanks for the info. I've got a few more questions:

          • In terms of reliability would you say that the PoE ones fair better than wi-fi models?

          • Do you have other models with mechanical IR cut filters?

          • Would the FI9805W integrate well together with the IP PoE cams - do they work harmoniously together on the app?

        • @highon2str:

Hi there, the specifications for Poe and Wifi models of the same model number at the same. the only difference being one is wireless and the other is wired.

We have only brought in FI9805W for outdoor use in this batch but will be bring more different models in the next shipment.

Integration is the same. All of the use the same software app :)

  • Hi rep,

How long does it usually take to get one delivered? I ordered one on the 4th and my order status is still "processing" on the 10th.

    • Login and see if you have a tracking number under details.
I ordered on the 4th too and its in Auspost Nsw processing center yesterday afternoon.

Postage from WA is never fast to NSW for some reason.

I once order an item from Tokyo and also one from WA on a Friday.
The ones from Tokyo arrive on Monday and the ones from WA took a week! :)

    • Hi Christn,

This is the first time we have encountered problems with Australia Post.

Your parcel was packed and ready for shipping on the 5/10/2014.

It was dropped off at the post office on the 6/10/2014. I have sent an enquiry last night to the post office since there was no indication of the parcel being tracked.

I will send an email to you personally with the enquiry number and will keep you informed every step of the way :)

Apologies for the late response but it's currently being handled by Australia post.
