My car radio has no blue teeth, has a lovely tape player and twisty knobs though.

      "another waste of money"
I assume the first was your Holden?

      • Nah a ford actully thats why i got a Holden now no need to push my car everywhere.

          Ford, Holden, same thing.

    • Bluetooth will drain the phone's battery

  • Apart from those that don't have bluetooth of course. Just ordered mine for my iPod nano to use in the work ute (no AUX plug).

  • any user review of this exact item?.. been using some other similar item (different brand) and found quite a hassle & dangerous with the need of constant FM radio frequencies tuning (manual change) while driving..

    • US$4.29 - not a lot of risk there…if it works that's great and if it doesn't put it down to one of life's learning experiences :-)

found quite a hassle & dangerous with the need of constant FM radio frequencies tuning (manual change) while driving..

i have this from DX (it uses PLL too) which lets you store memory presets.. the newfrog one seems to remember just the last tuned frequency which isn't a problem as you can just set one of your car stereo's fm presets to the same

as for the DX one.. the sound quality is very good if you do not have it charging.. if you do then you hear a bit of static noise during soft parts of the music.. unplug it and it goes away.. i've owned this other FM transmitter from DX and the sound quality was shit.. however 2 problems.. the li-ion battery doesn't even last like 20 mins.. either that or it's constantly out of charge for some reason (maybe because i leave it constantly plugged in).. also, the plug where you connect the cable on the transmitter is stupidly placed.. you have to rotate it so it's not flushed with the phone to be able to charge.. but i circumvented with a short 3.5mm audio extension cable so the transmitter just sits in one of the compartments on my dash.. the one from newfrog has a better design

also one thing to note with the one from newfrog

      1. Press the answer key of your mobile phone when the phone rings to answer calls, then talk hands-free via the built in high quality microphone and the car stereo.
      2. For optimal voice clarity, a distance of 30-60cm between the user and microphone is advised.

there is clearly no microphone on the unit.. they're just talking about the microphone on your phone!
