Just had a browse through their store and loving the quality of their watches.
The store has a small range of very simple, yet modern looking watches and reviews on youtube seem to indicate high quality.

  These are all right though it is possible to get equal or better for about the same price which was ~AUD$104 (a couple of weeks ago, now ~$108) or with the code bringing it to $97.5 (please put this in title, OP). Also they sometimes have 20% in their newsletter though don't know if that stacks with the affiliate link '10friend' which is the same for everyone.

  Can someone explain what's so special about this, making it the "second highest funded fashion startup" in Indiegogo? I thought the point of expensive watches is the exclusivity (i.e. price itself); if I wanted quality at decent price there's a good selection of Seikos. Is MVMT actually better (in terms of accuracy/materials/etc.) than other ~$100 watches, or do people just like the look, or is it all marketing?

    Nothing special at all.
    Off the shelf quartz movement, not original design, non sapphire crystal and a few design choices which I don't agree with ie end links on bracelet. better off buying a Timex for $35 or an Automatic Seiko5 at the $100ish price-point.
    Even cheapo chinese quartz movements that ripoff Miyota or ETA movements are very good at accurate timekeeping.
