So I noticed that WD Red 4TB’s can now be shipped to Australia.
Can anyone tell me what the process is in the event a drive fails - do I return to Western Digital (in Singapore) or will Amazon wear the cost of the return to them for replacement?

WD have international warranty. The warranty registration site will tell your drive is out of region but will give you the opportunity to generate an RMA and send the drive to somewhere in Asia. They will send the repaired drive back b

I get a lot of WD stuff from the USA, which shows as out of region, but still under warranty.
The warranty is simple. Online RMA, generally post to Malaysia, and they send a new drive.
Just be sure to test properly yourself before sending it back to save wasting postage.
I think WD have test programs too.

Most items do not come with international warranty's. thus it is up to you to get it back to them (amazon) in the usa,if you seek a repair directly from WD they have a usa branch, but you will still have to pay the shipping , as the warranty is not international.
