909 Single Bevel Slide Mitre Saw 255mm $88.20 @ Masters (Save $50 + 10% off)

SUPER10

I bought one of these last time they were on sale (plus an 80t blade which cost more than the saw.. but made it much better). They're not super precise but mine's still going after making a 2m work bench, 6 draw cabinet, gaming simulator chair and multiple random cuts on odd jobs.

Not for tradies but perfect for those home project jobs on the cheap.

FYI: For an extra $100 you can get the 305mm DOUBLE bevel: https://www.masters.com.au/product/900023080/909-double-beve…

And masters come with cash back too!

  • what he widest plank this saw can cut? (not including flipping)

    • Usually anything wider than the blade, 3mm

      Depth here:

    • 295mm

Didn't take me much longer to follow 2 links than it would have taken you to ask someone else to do it for you.

      Straight cut
      0° x 0°: 81.5 mm (3 1/4”) x 295 mm (11 5/8”)
      Mitre cut
      45° (L&R) x 0°: 81.5 mm (3 1/4”) x 205 mm (8 1/16”)
      Bevel cut
      0° x 45°(L): 43 mm (1 5/8”) x 295 mm (11 5/8”)
      Compound mitre cut
      45°(L) x 45°(L): 43 mm (1 5/8”) x 205 mm (8 1/16”)

      • I saw that. But i thought it was wrong because there was that slidy thing. It looked mroe than 4 cms. =S so assuming the full blade of the width + that slide = something more than 29cm.

        I guess not. Thanks! :D

  • the bunnings equivalent is for $98 and has only 1600W motor and no laser sight line.

The difference between rated input wattages is meaningless.

The laser line on this is so far off true that it's actually a negative.

      The Bunnies equivalent is $148 : http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1600w-254mm-corded-slide-co…

If you cant afford $400 for the cheapest decent one, you are far better off with a non-slider. You might actually get kinda-sorta-almost square cuts. The cheap sliders are sloppier than a drunken Schoolie.

    • laser is pointless especially on these low end machines.

The laser is actually useful. It's not mm precise but it gives me a guide to where my blade is going (just to the right of the line in my case).
