  • Not a good brand from a tradies perspective but for the home handyman, it'd be hard to find better value than this.

source: sold power tools for 7 years

  • Only $5.52 delivery for me. Pretty good for this size item. Sold.

  • Would you use this to install the door lock stops into the door frame?

You know those metal plate bits that stop the door from opening when you close the door and the little bit sticks out.

I would say you could with the right bit. Probably just as easy to use a hole saw. Router would probably give a cleaner result

      • Nah not the door hole, the plate in the door frame. It sits in the frame flush with the wood.

          The striker plate you mean?

Just use a chisel & hammer for it…

          @StewBalls: Yeh thanks good idea!

Not without a jig or accessory of some sort (which do exist). But really, all you need for that job is a nice sharp chisel.

      • Thanks

Great price. Been looking at getting something like this. Anyone know what is included with this?

      Spanner x 1
      Roller guide x 1
      Depth stop x 1
      Template guide x 1
      Collet (6.35/8mm) x 2

      • Router and accessories all box in a black plastic carry case

  • Somehow i revoked my + vote :/. So here it is instead +

  • Coupled with the $10 bonus that I'm sure everyone got… :)

Too large and unwieldy for striker plates. I use a smaller trim router which is much easier to control with one hand. Otherwise chisel and hammer, but the small trim router + a little skill gives the best and quickest result.

  • Looks like chisel and hammer for me it is then haha

  • Thanks OP good find. I recently bought the table saw from Aldi and this should come in handy for woodwork projects around the home.

    • can you please give some review of the table saw you bought from aldi?thanks

This plunge router produces 1250 watts making it powerful enough for any job.

    Free energy!

  • Thought I bought one for $35.52 delivered using $10 signup bonus but invoice says $45.52 so not if loyalty credit was applied now
