Help me select a proper TV out of this list? Sony, Samsung or LG?

Hey guys I am going to gift my sis a new TV as we all moved to new house..

Her old TV was also gifted by me :)
It was Soniq 42' 720p lol…

So now I am gifiting her decent TV…my budget is $1600 (sharp)

I have seen few TVs…in jbhifi today
One of TV was Sony for $1296

Also I have seen Lg 100hz 55' full HD + smart 3D for $1598

Also was one in catalogs that Samsung 100hz 55' full HD + smart 3D for $1589 with $400 cash back so it comes to $1198

And the last one caught my attention was
200hz yes

200hz 55' full HD smart 3D for $1998 with $400 cash back = $1598

So which one do u reckon? 100hz or 200hz?
Sony/lg/Samsung?

I'm a Sony guy and been using a KDL46WE5 for five years and still going strong.

100Hz is perfectly fine and seems a bit steep if you're only considering an extra 100Hz. 100Hz will be enough even for sports and it also you'll need content to be at 200Hz to even take advantage of the refresh rate anyway. I wouldn't bother.

Look at a 55" Sony and you should be happy with that. Maybe this? KDL55W800B

Either go with Sony 800B or Samsung6400 but I guess Samsung will suite better unless you wanna use for games.

Out of those 3 brands I would choose the LG going by my past experiences with all those makers.
100hz is a must and 200hz may not be all that noticeable.
3D is old hat these days so don't choose any set just for that feature.

The current model Sony's especially the 800/850 series are the best of the bunch, followed very closely by Samsung.

The LG's and Pana's arent even close.
