SCA Parts Tray - Magnetic, Round 4"
Nearly half price down from $6.99.
Very useful when taking part your electronics.
Keep in mind it's only 10cm in diameter.

Yeah, what i meant was holing the tiny screws when you are dismantling your electronic device, I don't recommend using the magnet with electronics ;)
Wonder if you can use this as a quick format for your HDD..
Magnets and electronics work fairly well with each other. It is when it is a non-static magnetic field (or the instant the magnetic field is applied) that it causes issues. A fluctuating magnetic field induces a electric current repeatedly whilst a fixed magnet will induce an electric current once (when it is moved within range) to a conductor.
Assuming the device has no electric current running through it (when the mag field is applied) then the magnetic field will not have an effect on the (re)operation of the electronic device.
If it is a device with electrochemical components then magnetic fields might 'pull' magnetic ingredients together. I'm not sure on the effect but I would expect that as soon as electrical current (or removal of magnetic field) would restore the chemicals to original status. Chemistry = idk.
It also depends on the size of the fixed magnet and the amount of electricity it can induce (when put with in range of the conductor) as well as the tolerances of the electronic devices. I suspect in regards to the latter; if they are working on something that sensitive they are aware of all this already.
I think Daiso sells these for $2.8
They do, I've got one from them.
no Daiso yet in WA :(
Soon-enough.
Their national plan is to build ~200 throughout australia… which is tons, considering the kind of store it is.
argh they need to build one already! we still don't even have a bloody Aldi yet. le sigh.
Ah its a "100 yen shop".. Yes build one in Perth already..
Keeping on topic with this post though, don't forget those of us who signed up to the SCA Club the other week (maybe still) have $10 credit to spend there..
@bamzero: lol i've burnt through both of my $10 credits :p
@bamzero: "~270 yen shop" in Australia :(
@endotherm: Yup AGAIN the Australia Tax. In Japan it is 105 yen (5 yen tax), and when it reaches australia it is almost 3x more expensive. haha
came to say that! plus from me!

Picked one up from SCA and Daiso, exactly the same except one is stamped SCA and painted red, the other is a shiny/stainless steel finish.
Iron Rice Bowl.
For Iron Chefs.
For the ladies: this makes a wonderful bobby pin holder so they don't wriggle around and you can free up desk space if you can stick it somewhere magnetic.
Very handy if you go under a lot, or even just screwing and unscrewing things around the house. +1.
And if you are using it to store electronics be mindful of the great big magnet on the bottom of the tray!
