Romoss Sofun 4 13000mAh Power Bank $29.99 Delivered

130

Browsing the camping and outdoors sale tonight and came across the Romoss Sofun 4 13000mAh power bank for $29.99 delivered. After a quick search, apparently they sell originals - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/159183

I took the punt and bought one anyway, and I'll see if it's an original when I receive it. The Sofun 4 comes with Samsung Li-Ion cells vs cheaper Chinese made cells in the Sailing models.

When did these guy become top rate seller?

I was trying to post their deal for week and then when it expire they become top rated.

    • When did these guy become top rate seller?

I can't see anything in the listing or their profile stating that they are a top rated seller????

The Sofun 4 comes with Samsung Li-Ion cells vs cheaper Chinese made cells.

Eh where do you think the Samsung cells are made?

    • Eh where do you think the Samsung cells are made?

      Korea?

and Vietnam. open the back of your Samsung phones you will see lots of them are made in Vietnam now, including the batteries.

      • +2

Korea and Vietnam - apparently the latter had surprisingly slightly higher quality

    • According to reviews I've read genuine Romoss Sailing pbs contains Samsung cells.

  • Can someone tell me why these type of devices have a rated x amount of cycles ? ie 500 in this case?.

    • I'm fairly sure it's because they are lithium-based batteries, and that's just how many cycles they can go through before significant degradation. The battery in your phones, tablets and laptops all have about 500 cycles, and so do these, which are just essentially batteries.

      • There are differnt types of lithium batteries, some better than others. The iPad ones are the better ones. The ones in laptops are the crappy ones, two years max.

        In my opinion.

        • "The iPad ones are the better ones." Why am I not surprised on a statement like this.

The laptop charging capability is nice but do they provide the plug for different laptop charging plugs? How will I get one of these plugs if it were not included?

Wrong product… Think this one OP is referring to is actually sailing 5. Not Sofun as the usb input section is completely different

I think the Sailing models have Samsung cells too. You are referring to the Solo models with the cheap Chinese batteries?

Also looking at the post again… I think this is actually a Sailing 5 rather than a Sofun model due to where the chargining indicators lie

There's another factory makes Samsung batteries in China, bought those as spares.
The whole "cheap China" comments I found similar to the cheap supermarket bread which are made by the same factory as other expensive branded bread.
There're plenty cheap batteries from China, they use less quality cells thus the name. However if the battery using high quality cells regardless brands, they're decent like XiaoMi etc. There're so many products made in China, many are high quality and maybe more are ok quality - you have to do your research. If you only judge by origin, you'd have a hard time to buy all the stuff for your household or office, unless price isn't an issue.
Another reason why there're so many blames on Chinese products, because it's the largest manufacturer in the world. Many Chinese investments are in south East Asia and the rest of world. I bet most of the stuff in your home are made in China.
How do I know these? I used to export from China, many of my friends still are. Please don't just say cheap China stuff, if you had those, think about the price you paid, greed from both sides.

    • This is true. When I was a kid, made in Japan was a synonym for cheap junk, now it indicates high quality. China does make a lot of cheap junk (which is suitable if you need something disposable or for infrequent use), but it increasingly makes very high quality stuff too. My iPhone is pretty well made, for example.

What does this have to do with the price of fish in…

    • +2

china makes both high quality and low quality stuff. but people choose to buy the low quality stuff because its cheaper and when their things break down they blame china for it

13000mAh/sailing 5/Samsung-cell purports to charge an iphone up to 6.5 times? Doesn't seem bad at all. Too bad I missed out earlier model, sailing 4 $19.99/10400mAh(greatest bang per buck).

But if it performs nearly as well as described, then it should have no trouble charging the Android powerhouses/3100mAh-phones over 3 times!(supposing some 80% conversion).

Time to buy though cashrewards for a final $29.40 price.

    • blergh… gone too soon :[

  • Looks like the offer has ended.

The picture is definitely a Romoss Sailing 5 (which has Samsung cells http://www.romoss.com/proview.php?ID=10), but I guess it could be the wrong picture being used. The other option is that it is a picture of the Sense/Solo series (non-specified cells and lower capacities http://www.romoss.com/proview.php?ID=17).

Saw thumbnail, got excited thinking it was a $29.99 mattress.

  • Please suggest a cheap and good powerbank to charge laptop, i.e. must be 12V atleast.

  • Out of stock?

  • Doesn't yet appear in Ozb products - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product?page=115
is there a button I may click to add Romoss sailing 5 power bank to shortlist?

  • Ozbargain?..

Thoughts on Loviss 13000mAh - unverified, $27.99 powerbank? Has a light instead of fast charge. Dual-output. NTS about sync charge.. around a dozen left.
Or alternatively a tried & proved 20kmAh (branded); worth waiting?

This other onelooks like one romoss, possible rebadge..just hard to tell what quality.
