Purchasing from Amazon & Warranty

There seem's to be quite some good deals that are posted from Amazon, however Amazon being US based I am wondering what the process is for warranty if something does go wrong during the warranty period. Do I need to ship the products back to the US or is there some sort of warehouse in Australia?

If so, wouldn't it be reasonable to pay the premium to buy from Aus retailers (when they discount) so that incase anything happens then shipping to Aus retailer is cheaper?

Would like some insight into this please :)

depends on the items , failure rate in alot of things is low enough to warrant the risk for a reasonable savings. you just need to take into account the cost to return the item + the time it would take for them to receive the item + service the item + return the item.

Yes it's a trade off in many cases. Some items have international warranty. Always worth asking about the arrangements for pricier goods.

  • Thanks guys! Definitely agree with what has been said. I guess I will needa take extra consideration before taking part of those tempting amazon deals :p
