Which plan is best for iphone 6 Plus (Optus vs Telstra)

Hey Guys, So im due for an upgrade from my current iphone 4 on the $60 plan with Optus.
I plan to get the Iphone 6 Plus 128gb, however I cant decide on whether to go with the $95 plan with Optus which gives me more data and unlimited calls, or telstra's $95 deal, which I get less for the value, but they offer better coverage and service (I live out in the western Suburbs, and not sure if the 4G coverage will be good enough with Optus)

or if there is another cheaper alternative, where I buy the phone outright from apple, and then get a simcard from either vendor, which offers at least 2.5gig of data, unlimited sms, and at least $500 worth of calls.

I have provided both links bellow to compare:

Telstra:

  • Surprised you haven't seen this on ozbargain yet https://www.virginmobile.com.au/Shop/iPhone-6-Plus-128GB-Spa…
$50 plan should be suffice for you.

I mean go telstra so you don't hog my bandwidth :P

    • That deal is only for people who aren't on the Optus network.
Unless op can be bothered to port to voda or telstra first.

  • Buy a $2day prepaid optus SIM and test their network at home.

  • Depends on whether you actually want to use the phone or not - I was with flOptus for several years and had to switch back to the Telstra robbers due to poor mobile coverage and unreliable connection etc.

  • go telstra - service and coverage is unbeaten

    i ordered the same today iphone 6+ 128gb $95 1.5gb will 1000 extra calls.

can alway buy a data pack for $5 if needed

  • well it seems no where has stock of the iphone 6 plus, so i cant upgrade to optus nor telstra.

anyone have an idea, when either retailer is getting stock?

I was lucky enough to get my order in on Friday 8 am on the dot. Ip6+128gb with Optus $95 plan. From my friend who works in Optus billing, there were only 2500 ip6+ sets that Optus had in stock!
