      • haha to be honest i dont really care as i can print the email order, however if your site has a button that says include invice with the order.. and i click it, maybe it should come with an invoice.. otherwise just remove the button lol.

    • Download your invoice from your account. I dont see how this is even a problem.

  • Hey Rep, can you do an Intel Nuc Celeron and SSD Deal?

    • +1

there should be something coming up next week.

  • I have a Acer Aspire V5-573. Would this fit? Is it hard to replace? There are no exclusive access to HD and Ram - seems you have to take the whole bottom off it. How do you go about reloading windows? Can you download windows 8.1 freshly and use the windows 8.0 key that came with the laptop? Sorry for the newbie questions.

    • +3

      Hey Martingifford,

A quick Google and I found a acer forum with some details for you, Hope it help,

      http://community.acer.com/t5/Ultra-Thin/Replacing-HDD-with-S…

      Regards,

      • Thanks. I found another thread on a whirlpool forum.

        http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2181079

Seems you need to find a special screw. But you can instal it and then clone from the original hard drive.

        • Yeah, i found that one but thought it was for mSata not SSD. I didnt know if they may be kept in a different location.

Should be easy enough, just use a torque Screw Driver and you should be fine.

          Regards,

        • Oh, I see people say not to clone an ordinary drive to an SSD. Looks like too much hassle for me. Good if you have plenty of time.

  • Hey rep, any chance you can do this for the same price as sandisk http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/samsung-840-evo-series…

    • +10

      that's not sparta

      • +2

Thanks. Just trying my luck. I will just wait a few more months then.

    • 840 evo seems to have a speed decay bug at the moment. Suggest sandisk or crucial mx100.

  • Ordered. Thanks!

    • +1

      thank you!

  • +2

    Hey rep,

Any deal on larger capacity SSDs?

    • Yeah been waiting on a larger capacity. Any deals shipping in for the next 6-12 months?

      • +1

haha… larger cap will be shipped before 6 mths :P.

    • +1

in the pipeline & it shouldn't be too long. So if you want to buy from us, please hold off a little longer :).

  • is there a cheap suitable cradle for the SSD's that would slide into a HP54L microserver ?

Have you stopped using Couriers Please as default yet ? How about standard Aust Post so we can collect missed parcels from the Post Office

    • no reply from Rep suggests they still use Couriers Never by default….shame, that has stopped me ordering.

      • I got last week's deal on the 2TB Samsung M3 portable drive through AU Post. However there was no padding inside the box (around the product package)! The drive seems to be working ok for the moment but that is not something which inspires confidence in me. Packaging shouldn't change no matter the shipping company used and a mistake like that, especially for a platter-drive is inexcusable.

        • This should not be happening normally. We put reasonably care for our packaging otherwise we risk the product becoming defective causing hassles to both sides.
I believe you've queried me and our CS team and they should be assisting you at the moment?

          Cheers
          SE

        • +2

          @ShoppingExpress:

Agreed. This is probably just a one-off, but the fact is it should never have happened.

Anyway, I've been told to use the drive at the moment and see if it shows any issues. Working ok so far, and hope it stays that way.

        • +2

I agree. My nuc came just in a courier bag.
REALLY need to use bubblewrap/boxes or something. Not just the raw product.
I watched a courier throw a parcel onto our porch today. It went "bang" onto the bricks.

    • Hi giggles,

Apologize for late reply. We did not change our delivery options recently so we still using our system to pick out the courier to use by default for each region.

      Best Regards
      SE

      • +5

Why not just use Australia Post be default?? It is clearly what people want, particularly for the reliability and ability to pickup from Post Office is not home when courier attempts delivery!

        • +4

It's probably because Auspost has increased their prices significantly lately.

        • +1

I'd happily pay $5 or $10 to get Australia Post so I could pick it up at the post office. Stops me from buying this.

        • +1

          @martingifford:

SE rep, Take note and learn from this: PLEASE change to using Aust Post by default and you will get more sales.

        • Yes. The three biggest problems with internet shopping are:

          1. deliveries
          2. guarantees
          3. returns

Those are obstacles to the sale. In marketing, the goal is to remove obstacles to the sale. I'd risk the hassle of returns and guarantees, but I at least want to make sure that I can safely and conveniently receive the product.

      • +1

Maybe take a look at StarTrack postage services. They're couriers but the package goes to Australia Post if you aren't home.

  • 256GB $109

    $ per Gb < 50cents.

it's like the 90s and watching hdd's cost less than $1 per mb

  • +1

OP, any chance of a deal on some mSATA SSDs?

    • +1

should have mSATA in upcoming up promotions.

      • Can't wait for this

  • +1

    ordered!

    • thank you!

  • 256gb ordered…hopefully this gives my work laptop a bit of a boost :)

Sandisk are what Seagate are to the HDD market, cheap and nasty. Would choose Samsung over Sandisk any day of the week. Great deal if your a risk taker

    • +1

I have a mix of both running in 5 various notebooks for well over a year now ( Samsung 840 120GB x 2, 840 Evo 120GB, Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, and my new baby also a Sandisk Extreme 2 240GB ). They are all performing extremely fast and reliably. I have played around along the way to test these ssd in the different systems with no noticeable difference.

They now both come with management software, Samsung having Cloning Software for a few years now, SanDisk working on it. I respect both companies, the fact that they both give long warranty periods for their better drives sums it up (3-5-10yrs).

  • Damn it, ordered!

  • @Rep - Release the 500GB's at $210 and retire early.

  • +2

My second SanDisk Ultra 256GB from these guys. First one was $160 and was heavily discounted at the time. This will go great in a recently built NUC (also from SE). It was painful setting up the NUC on a slow spinning disk!

  • Ordered 256 thanks Rep great price makes me a happy Vulcan :)

  • Am having some trouble setting an address for my account, the suburb selector won't bring up a list of suburbs, tried different post codes across three browsers, anyone else with the same?

  • Ordered the 256. Hoping it gives a nice little boost to my tired and cranky PC. Thank you! :)

  • bugger, I was looking for a SSD deal, and must have missed this one..

  • Deal ends Sunday, SSD on laptop dies Monday… #struggleIsReal
