That's a great price, shame its just WA. it's just what I need for extra storage for my xbox360 without the clutter of a extra PSU.
They also have the 80gb version for $62.10

Maybe we will have a mobile edition next year. However I need to first upgrade my phone from the old monochrome Nokia that only has a beeper for ringtones :)
I went to pick up one of these but ended up getting the Seagate Free Agent desktop version instead for $98.
Is 250gb but has its own power adapter and not powered by USB.I have come home and plugged it in but its only shows as being 230gb.
The fine print on box says "Accessible capacity may vary depending on operating enviroment and formatting."
But less than 20gb than advertised seems like a lot!!
Do I have any claim to HT for a refund ?
Chris, unfortunately this is very common. It just depends on how you interpret '1GB'. 1GB could be 1,000,000,000 bytes if you use base 10 calculation. However computer systems use base 2, hence 1GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes. So the advertised 250 GBytes / 1,073,741,824 bytes = 232 Gbytes usable space.
Wow that's a new thing I learn today. Thanks for pointing that out! :)
so if I were to plug the HDD into any of HT computers in store it would always come up with 232gb ?
Sounds doddgy to me that they dont tell you that it is common place for it to be less on normal everyday computers.
Either way I guess its a good deal for a 232gb HDD for $98.
Seriously?! I saw it listed as $116 last Thursday and that's how much I had to spent for it. $18 difference hurts pretty bad.
although IT Estate have a similar deal -available nationwide (U pay for shipping)
