I saw this phone at Harvey Norman Adelaide City today.
Probably a good deal for those who like to buy from a mortar and brick store.
It's got 5.5 inch screen and 1.5 GB of RAM.

You realise that a phone doesn't just consist of its SoC right? Some people might prefer the larger screen, dual front facing speakers or heaven forbid HTC Sense?
Ok, how about the fact that 398 is the RRP?

Yeah was about to say the same thing… this is the normal price - no bargain.
Agreed RRP is not bargain. It's not even a good phone option at this price point.
The price is just a joke.
haha, can't agree more.
This is about $150 too much to be considered a bargain.
Brick & Mortar*
A mortar and brick store would likely fall over it gets a bit gusty, though it would outlast the straw building
not a deal unfortunately, although i shouldn't compare it to a grey import but in this instance i rather a lg g2 from dwi or kogan to be honest :)
HTC desire 820 is just released this week with 64 bit CPU and 2Gb ram in china about 350 AU dollars
Link? Local stock?
might not be a powerhouse, but camera specs are decent (13mp/5mp) rest is very midrange. What its got going for it is microsd, nfc, battery life should be better than nexus 5, less than g2, htc boomsound and the htc ui.

$379, dual sim.
I managed to get one of these for under $300 during EOFY
Snapdragon 400?
MSY is selling the Xperia Z1 for $409. And if you want to be cheap, the Z is just 300. Or if you want a big screen the Z Ultra is still $350.
Then there are loads of Snapdragon 400 phones in the 200 dollar range.
