  • Still this! I'm trying to be healthy here dang it. So these are really good then? Wanted to give this one a go but was worried it'd be bad.

Try it. I'll personally hand you back $4 if you don't like it :)

      • +1

Ha. Coming from you that certainly means it must be good then. I'll see if I can make some freezer room then.

      • I'm sure Phreakuency finds your offer very generous

    • +3

      Don't swallow it. Problem solved.

        That's a form of bulimia.

  • +2

This is pretty good, but personally thought it needed more of a salty kick.

    • +28

Good news, Coles also sells salt

  • +2

I got the Pistachio and Honey one. So good!

    • +1

So glad to hear! I've been to so many ice cream parlours that just can't do pistachio right!

      • +2

Messina. You want Pistachio, go to Messina. YUUUM !!!

        • Is there an ice cream place called Messina, or are you referring to the city in Sicily. If the latter, then yes; go to Messina! My family is from there and I've been six times. The gelato is amazing, as it is most places in Italy. The Coles one doesn't quite compare, but it's good none the less.

        • @puffinfresh: no there is an Icecream place called Messina. Best I've ever been to.

        • @puffinfresh: Sorry, I meant the shop in Sydney (Surry Hills is my regular) not the place in Italy (which is where I am assuming the shop originates from?)

  • Wow I would so like to try these thanks!

The 1L Coles ice cream varieties are $4.70, 70c more for twice the ice cream ! :)
I love the Coconut Lime flavour.

    • +1

same varieties ? If so, that's a much better deal (excluding the cost of a new freezer to fit 1 or more litres of each variety :)

      • The 1L are different varieties

  • +3

Peanut Butter one is the bomb!

  • +3

Tried the peanut butter one after hearing about it in a previous deal and wasn't impressed. Almost nothing like a real peanut butter flavour to me. (Compared to, say the peanut butter Tim Tam's, which nailed it).

But the other flavours are very nice.

    • +3

I dont think the Tim Tams have any peanut butter in them. It's just very crafty flavouring!

    • +1

Those PB Timtams were awful. They had such a funky smell to them too.

      • +3

Yeah, peanut butter Tim Tams is a step too far. Had one - never again….and I love peanut butter!

    • +1

I liked the PB tim tams and wanted to like the coles ice cream but i found that it had WAY too much peanut bits in it. The ice cream itself got the PB flavour right. I want to eat ice cream not peanuts…

    • Those Tim tams are one of the worst flavours…i spat it out.

      • Same took a bite spat it out. Tried again next day thinking surely they ask couldn't be that bad then spat that out too. Then I returned it for a refund. Was gonna get some mint slice but the price went up.

  • ooh gotta try pistachio honey!

  • +2

Fell in love with the peanut butter one (as recommended at whirlpool forums).
I MUST try the pistachio honey~!!!

  • tried peanut butter one didnt like, any other worth trying?

    • Reese's peanut butter cup

  • I was eating Ben and Jenny by the tub full at this price earlier in the year!…..Yes in America!

  • I have only tried the liquorice all sorts one, but god damn if it isn't a flashback to the 80's and my childhood…

  • +2

What's the quality of the ice cream like? At this price, it's about the same as Connoisseur ice cream which is quite high quality. When Connoisseur is on special it's even cheaper than this ($7 for 1L)

  • Hmmm, is it just me or is that nutritional table in the the penut butter link more than a little wrong?
At least if I'm looking to keep my sodium levels down I'll make sure to stick to the serving size and not a teaspoon more.

  • 500mL size tub

  • 40% saving is only off the online price. In store the regular price is $6, meaning only a 33% saving.

  • I've been hanging out in Enmore for the last week. How can I possible go backward from Cow and Moon?

    • Most people a) dont live in Enmore, and b) don't want to line up at Cow and Moon.

  • thx. will try the Pistachio Honey

  • Oh well cya diet, it was good knowing you.

  • They were giving out free samples of there icecream today…i didn't try any but should of done…saw all the flavours on sale too.

  • +1

The Pistachio Honey tastes like nutty sponge cake, the bae likes it I don't…

But the Choc Banana Sundae really tastes like one has peanut pieces

Also the Lemon Meringue has real meringue it, but the 'lemon curd ripple'can't be seen or tasted, it just tastes super sweet.

And the other one I got was Caramel Popcorn, excessively sweet but 10/10 caramel popcorn flavour, really yummy.

EDIT - bought the last Pistachio one from Caulfield Uni Coles,
They don't stock Pavlova or PB, all other flavours have at least 5+

So close to a negative vote for the use of the word (if you want to call it that) bae….

      • Obviously my tongue in cheek went over someone's head.
To spell it out, I was having both a crack at the sites over(mis)use of the voting system, as well as this inane use of a made up word, which the creator is probably kicking back laughing at how idiotic it makes people sound when using it.

I do like the short descriptions on the varieties that were tried though.

  • Drools…my ice cream fix until the next connoisseur markdown.

    • But that is also on sale too!!

  • Thanks TA for the post, just went to Coles and also saw Conniser also on sale.

The Conniser works out to be 70c Per 100ml, while Coles is 80c per 100ml.

I bought the Coles one though just to check it out.
