$400 for the lot with a game, then i'd think about it.

    • +7

See you in a year then

      • Or two

        • +2

@banzini: Are you actually suggesting they'll release a more powerful PS4 in a year's time? That would be a pretty big screw you to everyone who's already purchased one.

        • +1

@dqtl74: I read banzini's comment more as that they might actually have released some decent games that leverage the system fully in a year's time…just my take on the comment.

        • @StewBalls: exactly, like all consoles the power will be utilised better months down the track. Plus any gremlins in the ps4 will be ironed out too.

      • +1

With the recent $399 DSE PS4 & 15% off eBay Killzone ~ $17, we're getting pretty damn close.

        • Give it a few months and we'll be there

        • In a sense, I'm already there: I have had PS Plus for a while now… I recently pulled the trigger on the $398 DSE PS4 deal and pretty much have an instant game collection already - not to mention a new PS4 game every month for as long as I have PS Plus!

    • Are you going to think about the extra $100 you spent for it now in a year to come?

    • +3

Yeah I'd hold my money. No games on either system are worth a $500 plunge yet, especially now destiny turned out to be a flop

      • Wow, after reading a few Destiny reviews I'm starting to agree with you…

        • That's funny the ones ive read are quite good bar 1

        • @TRENT86: I just read half a dozen, the words disjointed, hodge-podge & repetitive were pretty commonplace when describing gameplay…as was the allusion to a lacklustre (most said non-existent) storyline. Not bad enough to put me off having a play someday, but enough for me to not really consider it as a worthwhile value-add to a bundle…YMMV however!

Google is your friend if you wanna check out some of the less favourable reviews! ;)

        • @StewBalls:
Crazy ay for such a hyped game. And they are laughing all the way home with bulk money made on it already

        • @TRENT86: Yeah I know, seems to be a bit of a trend with hugely hyped games ATM, poor old Titanfall fell flat on it's face too. I like Bungie, I hope they can get Destiny back on track with DLC & updates…apparently it's visually stunning.

If you believe Kotaku, Bungie might miss out on a $2.5m contract bonus due to the mediocre reviews: http://kotaku.com/destiny-review-scores-may-cost-bungie-2-5-…

Just wanted to add my two cents. I and my son have sunk in a combined 27-28 hours into it since launch. I'm absolutely NOT a shooter fan but I can say that it's a console game that has sucked me in a lot more than most other console games. My 9 y/o is also nuts about it.

The points made by reviews seem to make sense, especially the repetitiveness and the lack of social interaction, and I agree with them - BUT heck damnit, I'm still enjoying it. Unfortunately I can't compare it to any recent shooters as like I said, I'm not a shooter type of guy.

Taken on its own merits and divorced from the disappointment with the hype - I reckon its a damn fun and fine game.

Full disclosure - I like my gaming but I'm mostly still trying to climb out of my "Steam pile of shame," so virtually all my gaming is old releases that I pick up on sale. :) I think Destiny is the only current release that I've been exposed to.

@tebbybabes: I don't think anything has come close to the enjoyment and longevity of Goldeneye 007 On N64! Heck I still have the 64 hooked up with it

        • @tebbybabes: Cheers mate, appreciate the input. I'll definitely give it a go, when the price comes down! :)

        • @TRENT86: NBA Jam was right up there as well for me on nintendo. I fiended to play that

      • Yeh wasn't destiny like the most expensive game ever created, didn't even make as much hype as gtav nor sales im guessing..

Make sure you don't get the Xbox One, the games aren't in 1080p… ;)

    • +9

Do you have 2 accounts here suicine?

      • it was just a reference to suicine's comments, he's was bound to say it anyway

    • Suicine94 my friendddddddd

    • +3

Weird, I got Destiny and Forza and both are 1080p. Weird, I must have got a special version

      • +3

        You got scammed.

        • But they both are 1080p on Xbox one…

  • The ps4 one is very tempting, although I already have ac4 on ps3. How much would you say it would be worth as a trade in brand new?

    • $31 or you can try your luck on gumtree..

  • +2

a few months ago there was a Xbox One console with kinect and Titanfall for $439 + delivery posted on here. These deals dont seem so good in comparison.

  • -1

Or get the Xbox one for $499 with ac and destiny.

    • +1

Yeah that deal I posted last week

      • I'll probably go the Target XB1 with 4 games for $449 that you posted. Starts tomorrow. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161250

        • Yeah So many console posts this week lol

        • +3

          Think you mean $549?

    • +1

if it was $50 cheaper i'd be tempted

      • +1

        New year sales ")

  • The $499 PS4 deal is very tempting, especially since I've got a $100 JB voucher I haven't used yet. Might have to pay a visit over the weekend.

  • Forza Horizon 2 + Forza 5

Does anybody know if JB will swap out games for others of similar value…I'm not a Forza fan?

    • You can only try :)

      • Yeah, my local JB are pretty cool so I'll hit them up…was kinda hoping someone had experience with this, if only to save me getting off my lazy arse to get a definitive answer. My vouchers from the old Mastercard deal are burning a hole in my pocket! ;)

    • They will let you "trade them in" which is a total scam. They'll give you used trade-in prices on them and then put them back on the shelf as new games. Don't let them do this! Keep the games and sell them on eBay or elsewhere.

      • Cheers levinet, thanks for the heads-up! :)

  • +1

While I am absolutely not interested with kiddy or fitness/dance games. When I do buy a XB1 I want kinect included, I believe it adds a lot of ease and functionality to the console.

    • Agreed. The Kinect gets bagged out a lot, but I've actually had quite a lot of fun with it on my 360…I'd bite again! :)

  • So I can get 10% off JB vouchers through work… What's the best value deal here? I'm thinking the $499 PS4 bundle. $449 for me.

    • The xb1 4 gamer or the one you mention are best

  • I bought a couple of games preemptively for the xbox so i just needed the console right now and can wait for horizon 2, i rang two different jb's near me and both said they cant separate the packages and give us the game when released (which is 2 days after the console is released which doesn't bother me as per ebgames 2nd November compared to the 30th)

Annoyed, if i can't get another xbox for cheap before the 30th ill bite but only if i can swap out ac for a similarly priced game (which i doubt as they said the bundle is pretty specifically a bundle that they can't seperate, may ring them on monday to double check)

  • Does anyone know if that PS4 + AC 4 + The Last of Us Remastered $499, is still on?
Couldnt find it on their website

  • still poster up in store so i assume yes
