  • I paid $20 for mine from Aldi years ago. In fact, we bought 3 within our family. They're all still going strong, no issues - and I throw in huge ice cubes almost always (like 1/2 the bullet is ice) which is probably not the kindest thing to do to a basic little blender… but it copes fine and always turns them into a perfect slushie consistency for cocktails :P

Though being an Aldi thing, it's not available all the time.. and who knows when it'll next be available. I guess my point is, mine was dirt cheap and does the job well, and has done for years.

I've never used one of the branded Magic Bullet gizmos though so I can't compare, unfortunately.

      • Nah, that's a new type of bullet they've got. Mine looks exactly like the actual Magic Bullet - they must've come out of the same factory.

It looks like this and has the same included parts: http://www.lasplash.com/uploads//1/magic_bullet_6.jpg

        • aahh icic

        • @djones145: ah, the joys of OzBargain archives!

          Here it is! lol https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29110

You can't click on the link to view the ad for it any more, but you can see from the thumbnail that it's the same as the Magic Bullet, only probably rebadged as Maison (or perhaps not rebadged and just a good visual copy of the real deal).

I'd like to know what the real Magic Bullet is like in comparison. My Aldi one is LOUD and feels flimsy, but as I've said, never had a problem with it turning big ice cubes into slushie. No leaks or breaks either.

        • @waterlogged turnip:
          that's pretty good!
have a look at amazon for reviews on the magic bullet

I did read a lot about leaks but that could be a old model

at 20 bucks i'll accept that!
          target had it for 79

  • We've been using the kambrook blitz to go for a few weeks now. Smashes its way through whole frozen strawberries and chunks of frozen banana without issue. I think its about $40, but doubles as a smoothie/milkshake to go setup.

    Stupidly easy to clean also.

  • I've been looking for one aswell

seen the magic bullet at target and good guys

reading the reviews on amazon have got me off it though (they say the seals on the cups leak)
    that is around 79-100

the nutibullet on telly looks good, ebay seems to be selling them for around 130

only problem is the warranty would be poor (at least with target and good guys u can return if issues!)

haven't seen any reviews on the sunbeam or the George foreman ones though, expect them to be weaker but slightly better quality in the seals!

i.e no help but if you find one tell me too lol

  • I picked up an el cheapo one from Woolworths a year or so ago. I saw it here on Ozbargain, and got the last one at my local Woolies. From memory I think it was $20.

No problems with it at all, but I don't thrash it either. I mostly use it for making protein shakes occasionally, though it will get more use now that winter is over!

  • Don't buy the Nutribullets
    from eBay.

    They're all fakes from China.
If you compare the build quality with the ones you get from the TV you'll know what I'm talking about.

    • I bought one from ebay, it comes from Malaysia.

  • I picked up a mini-blender from Kmart, similar to the magic bullet in size, capability and attachments.
Was around $30 from memory and it hasn't caused me any issues in the 3 months that i've had it.

EDIT: Here it is - http://www.kmart.com.au/product/homemaker-mini-blender-with-…

  • I had a magic bullet and I still do, electronic is solid but after one year I realized the inside plastic under the blade has come off (got scrubbed, due to Ice cubes) no more smoothies, just using it for grinding spices.
    Stay away from Magic Bullet
