Why are you here on OzBargain?

Obviously everyone here is to find a bargain. But why?
For yourself, family, friends…. resell?

How many here are buying just to resell with a profit? I have to admit that some things i have purchased after seeing here i resell for a profit. Hardly ever but happens. Mainly i purchase "useful" stuff for myself and family. We each need a dozen flashlights, headphones and of course eneloops…

Bargains ease the pain of life

  • To see the comments plunged into the negative zone!

  • Just moved out of home, need stuff, and don't like paying retail.

  • Buy too many things that I don't need, and stuck with it because I only knows how to buy but don't know how or where to sell them. Usually end up with my sisters/nieces/nephews for phones and tablets.

  • I thought this was a community. Sounds like if you re-sell an item just to make a profit then genuine OzBargainers who miss out because you bought all the stock are being ripped off.

    • At least i admit that i sometimes resell, i am sure i am not the only one here.

I honestly don't believe i am ripping anyone off.

  • I like the quality deals posted and the comments are gold sometimes! Some of my fav deals are those rebel sport gift cards which allowed me to finally upgrade my runners, the $500 air which really helped me out since I'm a uni student and various cycling deals which I am always on the look out for.

I think it's rather unethical reselling for a profit and there are people out there who genuinely need/want the deal and it's unfair for them to miss out due to your greedy intentions. Just my two cents!

  • can't get enough of them impulse purchases here. An awesome community would also be a factor. Heaps of entertaining posts, stories, tips etc.

    i need a wife !!

    • Have we had an ozbargain couple yet? Now that would be awesome :)

      • I would looove to find a frugal husband who budgets like I do :)

Budgets normally require that you don't buy stuff you don't need, not sure many of the guys on the site would meet that requirement. But if you want a guy who's not short on torches, headphones and eneloops you could be in luck!

        • You never know…some men might also be on here for the freebies, financial forums, and free money or rewards points for opening bank accounts and credit cards ;) Though I am tempted by the occasional eneloop bargain myself!

        • @BrisLis: i think ive found my match !!

        • Who needs Tinder?!

        • eastern culture, brislis - here's your chance!

Then put up a post in "Find me a bargain".

  • To up vote all of TA posts, to try and work out if jv is actually trolling or genuine, to amass a list of free udemy and kindle books and courses that I doubt I will finish in this lifetime and of course to help people with their life problems.

  • I love Ozbargain! I am here to see what is happening in the "marketplace" for all kinds of stuff that I may or may not need.

I find I remember deals and look back for them later on to get an idea of prices being paid for goods.

Also the poster of the supermarket specials the weekend before they come into effect is great, as I hate buying stuff and finding it on special in the next week's special period.

Never a moment's regret about the time I spend cruising the site of reading the daily updates.

    Cheerz Wabster.

  • I love being fat always look for KFC MACCAS. more please

  • For trolling noobs ^

I'm here for mostly the forums rather than the deals section.

Which I guess is like buying porn mags for the articles…

Just signed up. My wife has always done the grocery shopping for the past 20 years which usually involved walking into the local store and filling the trolley without a care in the world to prices.
12 months ago she got her 1st job ever and has passed on all the washing, cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping to me during this time which I have taken on with a passion.
Recently I started to track all my grocery expenses and was amazed at how much money one could save.
My latest bargain was to walk into bunnings with a photo of the shelf price from Coles of a box of Redhead firelighters for $3.59. Bunnings price was $3.65 so I go them 10% cheaper for $3.23. I picked up 10 boxes which should last me a couple of winters with a total saving of $14 from my normal store.
Joined ozbargain to find and share some bargains.
Oh we'll, rooster is crowing so it looks like its time to get up and milk the cows.
