Hi. This is my first post here.

I am trying to look for a mobile plan, in terms of network, I guess Optus will have to do, Telstra (and its resellers are too expensive) and vodafone's network is awful.

I'm looking for a plan that is generous data (1-1.5GB) and Unlimited SMS. I don't really use the phone that much. I'm hoping for around $20/month.

I have been looking at Live Connected

  • $23
  • Unlimited SMS
  • 1GB data

and Vaya

  • $19
  • Unlimited SMS
  • 1.5GB data

The catch here is Vaya is better plan, but uses MB increments for data.

Can anyone recommend a good plan for me? I'm not sure how to pick with Vaya cheaper overall but with the MB thing. Are there better plans out there? Because other than these 2, I can't seem to find anything else.

    Im guessing you are in the exact same boat as I am, got screwed over with Live Connected..

    Anyway if you aren't it doesn't matter.. heres what I did..

    Its on telstra, generous data, 10kb increments..
    Only negative is 12 month contract.. but I figured that was alright..

    I got the $28 plan but the $25 one or even the $20 one sounds alright for your case.

      Nice! Even include Intl calls. It's criminal that Optus and Telstra charge extra for that, when it should be included in the plan.

      Wonder if TC allows 'premium' SMS like enter comps and voting on TV, those 55cent things with Salmat etc. I thought they would be included with Optus, but nope, got charge 50cents for it, weird as it says on TV it's 55cents ;-p

      Just about all phone plans are contract, though Optus released month-to-month deals but they're not worth it with all the catches and crappy reception in rural areas. So 12 months contract lock in doesn't look so bad when it's only $20 a month.

          Liveconnected is 4G now for me, since I've started paying the extra $10/m.

    Any idea what rates per min mobile national calls are charged at?
