Hi folks,
Long story short.
Six family members traveling to USA together on an American Airlines flight but a QANTAS service in a little over a week. It will cost $300 for seat selection for all six for there and back.
Available after payment for your flight has been made at qantas.com, Advance Seat Selection is complimentary if:
- You are travelling on any Qantas operated domestic service.
- You are travelling internationally in First, Business or Premium Economy cabins.
- You are a Platinum, Gold or Silver Frequent Flyer or equivalent oneworld Frequent Flyer.
- You are on the same booking and travelling with any of the above mentioned travellers.
So my question is, would it be cheaper to become a Silver Frequent flyer or equivalent oneworld Frequent Flyer? I am already an Emirates FF member but not sure that counts.
With 6 adult fares, am I crazy not to join QANTAS FF to take advantage of this offer next time if I can't manage it this time?
Thanks.
I'm new to travel.
Tip 1: KEEP YOUR BOARDING PASSES :) You can credit these flights' points/etc to a frequent flyer scheme AFTER flying as long as you keep your boarding passes
Tip 2: Use Seatguru.com to determine what seats are best for your flights
As a hunch, I think it'd be cheaper to pay $300 once off than gaining the required flights to obtain silver QFF. Are you planning much QF/oneworld flying in not too distant future?
