hi all,
my partner and i purchased a 1950s 2 bed weatherboard 18 months ago and have been thinking about extending it ever since. Whilst we aren't in a position to do so right now, we are hoping to be within a year.
However, given I don't really know the cost who knows!
We're basically wanting to add a master bedroom and ensuite to the back of it. It'll be at ground floor still (as I'm assuming this is the cheapest option) and will be in weatherboard still (again assuming this is cheapest option).
Can anyone please give me an idea of what this might cost based on their own experiences?
We live about 12 km from Melb CBD FWIW.
thanks

$20k min for a room, $10k for a basic ensuite. We put two large rooms (no plumbing) and a smallish deck on the back of our old house for about $60k a few years ago.
But as above, just ring a couple of places and ask for a ball park figure. They should be able to give you a rough square metre rate, or per room rate.
thanks mate, appreciate :) even just recalled a friend has a mate who is a builder! gotta work those contacts!
Hmm $20,000,
How about you call a few extension places and get quotes, then you'll actually know the cost.
