  • keep in mind that this isn't FULL HD but is a HD tv (as it does 768P), EG fine for TV's but wont run blue ray at full res. think full HD are still a couple hundred more though so pretty decent price for a TV with a HD tuner built in.

720P is good enough for me, my eyes are very forgiving
I have seen movies at both 720P and full 1080p Resolution.

720P is still fantastic, to notice the difference on a 32" TV you would need to be sitting less than 2 metres from it, and it's nearly indistinguishable at that point anyway.

Great deal with the 3 year warranty.

The warranty is the best selling point of this TV. Most of them are 1 year warranty only, except Pangoo 32" (which is $950, and includes DVD player which is not covered by the warranty!!) or Hisense ($950-$1050).

I just bought a 40" AWA TV from Big W. It is Full HD 1080p , has 3 HDMI inputs. Was $998

    good price i thought

    • Is it any good? I saw this at my store too… and it's a damn good price for a 40" 1080p screen!

I looked at this TV today - was interested in getting one. They had a sign saying the description in the catalogue was wrong - but they didn't say what was wrong about it. Also this tv was very dark compared to the other tv's they had on show - Decided not to get it :(

I bought one this evening at Big W in Melbourne CBD and have yet to get it out of the box but I can tell you what's wrong with the catalogue description.

Catalogue = 2500:1 contrast, 6.5 msec response time
Reality = 1800:1 contrast, 7.5 msec response time

Worked out nicely for me - the staff were unaware of the error and we only spotted it after paying for it and they brought the box to us. Store manager offered us the chance to (1) return it for a full refund or (2) drop the price on the one we chose, or (3) drop the price on an alternate model. We chose to take the price reduction on the one we'd chosen so total cost = $550.

I have to give a big thumbs up to the store - they had the option of just "return it or take it as is" but they went the extra mile. We didn't expect the price cut given the Epping and Broadmeadows Big W's were already sold out of stock.

  • Bought this tv yesterday. I'm very impressed. It's not a Sony, but is excellent for the price.

    Couple of probs:
-there's no way to toggle between av inputs. You need to choose from a list each time.

-it's on standby all the time unless you reach around the back to turn the big power button off. Bit of a stretch.

-power-on LED is a little bright. I'll be taping that one over a little.

    Otherwise very happy.
