They charge for abandonware.
As they should… these games are still under copyright and I understand they make it easier to play old games on modern PCs.
Abandonware is not actually legal (although no-one is likely to enforce this):
Although such software is usually still under copyright, the owner may not be tracking or enforcing copyright violations
How do you figure that?
My understanding is that if somebody has acquired the legal rights to sell a game and is now selling it, that means that it literally cannot be abandonware.
