I cooked a mud cake and chicken curry for my wife and kid.

Hang on, We're supposed to get something for Father's day ?

Got woken up at 6am by my 4yo daughter. When I asked what happened to sleeping in I was told that "if I didn't go downstairs straight away, I'm cancelling Father's Day."

When I got downstairs, no prezzies… Just more orders: Make me breakfast.

I cooked my dad lunch and I was on my best behavior, tried to say yes as much as I could without getting upset :)
After all it is his day. I think thats the least I could for all he has done for me.

Sound like you have a great dad, and he has a great kid. Well for today anyway.

Kids gave their dad 3 explorer pairs of socks(on special from Foodland for $5.69…true Ozbarganer on my behalf) and they cooked US pancakes for breaky. My effort was to let him watch footy shows and the Port/Richmond game without nagging about it :)

Bought my stepdad a leaf blower after hinting me for one for the past year

  • toast and tea. and a sore throat from yelling at kids to clean up their rooms (daily gift from them).

  • I got my father a 32 gig flash drive for his sat tv in his caravan, so he can record the shows and watch them the next day.

I also bought him and myself one of these Ezysafe can openers: http://www.bjenterprises.com.au/ezysafe-can-opener/ezysafe-c…
still waiting on it to arrive as I only ordered it last monday so will most likely be here tomorrow.

A clip on how this can opener works can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0kfuL9N9Hc

Note the can opener leaves no sharp edges check it out.

    Enjoy…

  • We tend not to do Fathers Day, given its only 100 year old tradition, originally started in the USA. I will for the Dad in law if the husband insists, but he's doing that less over time.

Mothers Day we do, the tradition is much older.

We are nice to our Dads, but don't have a specific day set aside.

Also the tradition of women doing all the cooking and housework and changing nappies is much older than men doing it. I assume you follow this too?

Yes and my man goes off and hunts bison for dinner. :)
