Printing on Wood

Hi,

Im looking for a place that sells wood to print invites on. I have found http://printonwood.com.au/ but they dont seem to sell the paper. Obviously with invites i would like to put peoples names on the invite hence me printing them myself, rather than a generic invite.

Im based in Perth too so something local would help. 100x100mm would be around the perfect size too.

    • Nice.

      • Any links to transferring onto tiles?

I guess I'll try it same as the wood idea.

        • tiles would need paint, engrave or etch

  • Thanks for that. Will try it myself, not sure how it will work for invites…Is there anywhere to purchase printable sheets? That i definitely cant find…

  • How would you print on it? A laser or pyrograph project would be cool.

I didn't know they made wood veneer durable enough to send through a printing, thought the bending over would make it snap.

There are craft papers that have a pattern finish on them. Or ones made of other materials like hemp and bamboo etc. Or lambskin/vellum.

Jacksons Drawing Supplies in Perth has cool stuff like that and scrapbooking stores. Maybe they know suppliers that can order them in.

you are probably looking for paperwood or wood veneer.
this is used in scrapbooking, but i'm not sure if it would survive the conventional home printer if you tried to print with it.
here is the cheapest link i found. it's on sale atm. http://www.annascraftcupboard.com.au/store/index.php?main_pa…

or.. this is not australian but you can check how much shipping costs. note that you need the inkjet printable wood for printer friendly. http://www.nissiwood.com/
