For some reason though, it didn't work for me. The coupon code you will receive seems to be listed here (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/10909), but seems that it doesn't work.

Anyway, $450 - $30 (moneyback from https://secure.moneybackco.com/merchants/Fishpond/) seems a pretty good deal. If you still going to buy it at the release date and you don't want to buy it from Fishpond, see if any store will match this price of $449.97.

      from what i've seen, the suppliers have stopped supplying shops with ps3 fat for a while with the intention of the slims coming in. It's been very hard to buy a ps3-fat recently

    Hmmmm, Anyone know whether Sony are going to run the Bravia deals for the "Fatties" anytime soon.

    I'm on the verge of buying a KDL40W5500 and I don't want to be dissapointed in a month hehe.

      I doubt it. I can't see them pushing the fatties in promotions the same time they are trying to sell and advertise the slim.

      I'd guess, and it's only a guess, that in a month to two after the slims release they will run the promotion with the slim in the lead up to XMas.

      How does it work?

      So you've seen something that you want to buy online, check if that merchant is part of the MoneyBackCo community by doing a quick search on here. If that merchant is listed, you'll see how much moneyback they're offering and any conditions on the merchant specific page. There'll be a link on the merchant specific page, provided you're logged into MoneyBackCo, click that link and you'll be taken directly to that merchants website, you buy direct from the merchant, not us. If you complete a purchase wholly online with the merchant we then receive information regarding the purchase, like the amount paid for the purchase and the moneyback due for that transaction. We don't receive any details of what you've purchased, just this tracking information. Depending on the merchant we'll be able to track the moneyback due from that transaction until we receive it from them (this usually takes approximately 2 months, but can take longer depending on the merchant and the network they're on), once we receive the moneyback we can then pay this out to you via a method of your choosing. Clever isn't it?

              @kit0507: There is a $10 annual fee which comes out once you reach $10 in commissions…

              But you should probably not worry about it (or take 60 seconds to go read how it works).

    I read on whirlpool it doesn't mention that it includes a controller?

    I know it should but can someone double check?

      I'd be so so so shocked if it didn't. For it not to have a controller I'd imagine they'd be selling refurbs which seems a bit unlikely on day one.

      I'd say its a safe bet its a retail box with a controller.

    looking at it now isn't it deceptive of them to list the original price as $527.99 when the RRP is $499 (I believe)
