"This promotion is for pickup only on Satruday 6th May morning in Footscray."

Ah 6th of September maybe OP? hmm

but the Expire 5/9 is odd so you buy before the 5/9 to pick up on the 6th?

  • Be aware that the latest and greatest android box has just been released (still being manufactured/distributed) it is based on the following chip RK3288. It is faster and better than the S802-H. Don't get me wrong the S802-H is good but the RK3288 is much better. Do a google.

Worth a look before you purchase especially if you are not in a hurry. It is estimated that the RK3288 units should be available soon.

    • I believe the Amlogic s802 chips are considered a better option for media (particularly XBMC) compatibility if that's what you'll be using the box for…

    • They are already selling rk3288 android box, e.g: http://www.dhgate.com/product/newest-quad-core-rk3288-ultra-… which is cheaper than the minix neo x8-h.

      That's the cheapest rk3288 i could find: http://www.dhgate.com/product/latest-smart-android-tv-box-u1…
But remember, minix is fairly popular and established in that industry. It provides updates/support/etc.

If anyone's bothered to look at all android box models/brands for any ONE specific SoC, he/she will find that some brands have ACTUAL BETTER performance (synthetic benchmark) than non-branded ones despite otherwise having same SoC. Do your research before buying any random android box with X, Y or Z SoC that's supposdely really good.

      • Better prices elsewhere like aliexpress. BUT check the specs carefully as early production models are HDMI 1.4 latter ones are 2.0 which the S801 cannot do. The RK3288 is much faster than the S802 as well.

Geekbuying are about to announce which models they will stock.

Dammit you! I bought mine a couple of weeks from overseas (through dhgate.com). Paid $144 USD (including DHL) for it including the Neo M1 remote (remote's definitely worth it compared to the stock remote the box comes with) (http://www.dhgate.com/product/minix-neo-x8h-x8-h-smart-andro…)

This box is the best android-tv box atm. Its customised xbmc works pretty well! Love it!

    Highly recommended for that price!

Re warranty, auscourier states it's manufacturer warranty. Although Australian Consumer Law will DEEM auscourier to be the Manufacturer (since there is no actual manufacturer in Australia), I highly doubt (unless auscourier says otherwise) that auscourier will action the warranty within the 1 year.
More importantly, given that the goodbid website classifies it as "Auction type: Standard auction", I doubt this sale would attract Australian Consumer Law at all re warranty.
(i.e. you'll likely have to go directly through manufacturer for warranty)

    Still a good buy.

  • Can i ask what advanage these have say over a WD TV Live? Also do they output HD audio or just DTS/DD?

  • What are the pick up arrangements? Have brought one.
