TGG 120% PB Experiences

We're going in to town this morning to get the GF a new TV. DSE have the LG 42LB5820 on sale for $679 but free delivery only. Called 2 GG stores and neither would do the 120% 30 Day Price Guarantee on the DSE price.

They wouldn't tell me why they wouldn't fulfill their advertised Price Guarantee.

Anyone else had this issue?

    Don't you need to buy from them first?
    And if you first show them the lower advertised price from DSE then they will be obliged to honour the 30-day price guarantee?

    If you really want it, I think you would have to take a risk and probably work for it, ie.

    1. Purchase from TGG
    2. Show them lower price and claim the price guarantee.
    3. If that fails, return your purchase to TGG
    4. Go back to DSE to buy the TV.
    5. No loss, except for your time and a lot of effort.

      ^this, buy it first from the TGG
      then get the 120% from showing the advertisement from DSE….
      if they refuse first threaten with the ACCC on their ass

      or

      refund,

      go to dse & still get item cheap

    So maybe I should pay full price then head to the service counter on the way out for the discount.

      Too much hassle, just go to dse and buy it.

    Got in store and said they dropped their price to match DSE so price beat no longer applied. But then they went and knocked another 15 off anyway.

    I tried to give DSE the business but their cart wouldn't let me finish the purchase.

      Yeah the price beat rules is a bit of a gimmick, like the flight centre one "if we cant beat the price you get it for free" I promise you no 1 has ever recieved a free flight from this promise, as beating the price will always be cheaper then the free flight. Just like TGG, they will beat the price so they dont have to take off 20%.

    I went into the good guys on Sunday to buy a washing machine and asked them if they could beat the price advertised from appliance central which included delivery. They came back from the manager saying they can only match the price with normal delivery then I asked them to beat it by removing my old washer they declined and said it would cost me $10 on top. So only price match for me.

    I think the trick is as mentioned above. Pay for it first at their marked price then show the ad and ask for the 120% price guarantee on the way out.
