Bali Bargain Accommodation/Things to Do

Hi there,

Thanks to today's bargain, I secured a couple of tickets over to Bali. Since I've never been there before, I am wondering what accommodation websites there is to book something cheap over there? How do they compare with over here? Is their star ratings different? Also, is there any other websites or info for bargains in Bali?

Thanks heaps!

  • Just promoting a friends' villa in Bali (a very good one located at top accommodation area) - http://www.villaoasisbali.com/rates/

And another one (a budget one but within 5 minutes to Kuta beach) - http://www.lawalonhotel.com/

    Hope it helps :)

With all of them email and ask for a special deal/price. You can even negotiate on accommodation in bali =]

For example we were offered the courtyard for about $90 australian per night for a 2 bedroom. Also if you just walk into the bigger resorts or boutique places and say ur a travel agent and want to know what prices you can get they give you ridiculous rates. When me and my gf whos a travel agent (didnt have anything with her which showed she was) were there we just wanted to go through and check out a few hotels but they couldnt really understand us and started writing all these discounted prices down lol Alam kul kul gave like 70% off their rack rate.

  • This is a good site where you can ask questions and read reviews of hotels (by people who have atually stayed there). Haven't used the Bali forum but I'm sure it's similar to the Chiang Mai forum I visit.

  • Thanks for the comments guys - bargs12 how on earth did you get that place for $90 per night? It says it's $200US per night for the 2 bedroom!

And chichi - that Trip Advisor is great as I've noticed people posting up about various things such as drivers, currency, etc - thanks!

  • I used Asiarooms. Fine!

My friends are long term traveller to Indonesia and always stay in Bakung Beach Hotel near Kuta. We stayed there and it was great! Clean rooms, a/c, nice garden, nice pool, decent free breakfasts, walking distance (or AUD1 taxi ride!) to central Kuta and just a 100m or so along a quiet lane to the beach! Dutch people make up the majority of the guest and are the nicest people you'll meet. They invite you to join them and be part of there group which is lovely!

It's a nice area. All the other hotels in that area are 4-5 stars and open onto the beach. And there's a great, cheap seafood restaurant next to the beach there.

Oh, and it's about AUD 30 per room per night. You won't beat that!

  • Thanks again for all the comments! Have managed to book a hotel and a driver whilst over there - can't wait!
