Logitech X-530 $69 @ Centrecom

180

Hey guys, just saw this @ Centrecom.

I have these speakers myself, 2+ years and still going strong. For the money, you can't go wrong. It has plenty of volume, good bass and is 5.1.

Sorry, I don't know how much postage is, but I'd imagine for something so big you'd be best off getting it locally.

Cheapest on Staticice is $75 @ MSY

  • Not great speakers by any means but at this price its a good bargain!

    • Agreed. Hence my choice of words - loud, good bass (ie. most boom for your buck).

For those thinking they can buy better, note that even z5500 aren't considered "great" speakers for your average audiophile.

Terrible speakers for the price. Maybe if they included tweeters I would call it a high price for what you get.

What on earth are you talking about?

The X-530 is THE cheapest PC 5.1 set on the market. Period.

Btw, you're not going to find any 5.1 set ups for your PC that include purpose-built tweeters for a reasonable price (i.e. under 1 grand). Even the higher end models, like the Z-5550, G-51, Gigaworks S750, all of which are over $400 don't have tweets.

Total crap. I'd live to see you recommend something better at this price point.

  • beware of the popping noise these make
i've had mine for a while and still pops if i open the fridge or so

to reduce the popping u can try plug em directly to the wall outlet and not into some surge powerboard which caused a lot of cracking and popping

    • Interesting you say this, as I have had my set of these speakers for 5 or 6 yrs and have never had any problems with the sound clarity (no popping of any kind) at all, and they are always plugged into a power board with at least 4 or 5 other plugs.

    • I've heard of this some people having this issue (mainly vua reading reviews) but never experienced it myself.

I have the older X-540 model, though it's identical to the X-530, and I've never had any issues with it over two years now.

  • great speakers, bought them for ~$85 from MSY in the beginning of the year.

at $69 i would get another set, but really, i don't need another set right now.

  • I've had a set of these, and a near identical 2.1 set, and they are great bang for your buck.

I've had one set for 4 or maybe more years and they are still like new.

  • Yeah, these speakers are great value. I also have a friend selling a set for $60, brand new, unopened, in the Sydney (Eastwood) area. Please contact me and I'll forward you contact details.

Price is also available in QLD at Computer Alliance on Brisbane southside - http://computeralliance.com.au/parts.aspx?qryPart=4750

  • Fluidtek probably saw this and reduced theirs to $60. haha the guy's a bit of a tightass so he's probably a bit desperate to get rid of them.

I managed to get Harvey Norman (Southland) to price match Centrecom. They weren't too happy however they did it.

Dick Smith thought it was fake and would not price match, they were trying to sell them for $199.00

  • Do these have a 2 prong power plug or 3 prong? I want to avoid an earth loop hum between laptop and speakers..
