Hi guys,
Hoping for some recommendations of a good Android phone(s) to get that has a screen that is less than 5 inches. I have no preferences whether the phone is on a plan or is to be bought outright.
Your collective advice has been great in previous queries, and many thanks in advance

i think also the sony XPeria z1 or 2 are good
All three of these have 5 inch screens, and have pretty huge bezels as well (moreso than the Nexus 5 and Galaxy S5), so they probably wouldn't suit the OP's preferences.

Might need a few more details… are you looking for a flagship? Do you have any kind of budget in mind?
The most obvious choices would be the popular Moto G (lower mid range) or the smaller versions of flagships (Galaxy S5 Mini, HTC One M8 Mini, Xperia Z1C (probably the best of the smaller phones). You also have the Moto X, which is a(n admittedly aged) flagship. There's also the new Galaxy Alpha that you might be interested in.

Less than 5inch screen, or waiting for iphone 6?!
JB Hifi's deal for the Z1 Compact at $386 is an absolute steal for a phone that has amazing specifications in a body that holds a 4.3 inch screen. It's a bit on the thicker side, but you have to consider that they had to put in the 20.7 megapixel camera and the Snapdragon 800 processor in a small body.
Yeah the z1 compact is great option, it's a portable powerhouse! The htc one m7 is another good choice too if you value quality speakers and a good panel.

Sorry missed a lot of this discussion.
My girlfriend needs a new phone, and is on an expensive contract for a windows phone, HTC torch I think, which is very outdated, and more frustrating than useful (to me at least!). She is reluctant to get a larger phone, and finds mine (nexus 5) far too big.
In terms of flagship/contract I have no preference as yet. Just checking what would be recommended by you guys
