Agreed! I have the DC59 Animal. Live with a long haired cat. The barrel is very small so I clean it after every use but it is super lightweight, comes with a range of attachments, and suction is very good.
Our cig lighter vaccuum that (is probably as old as me) is a POS.
Why not just do what we do and drag the family vacuum to the garage and run that bad boy over the seats when required?
If you're looking at picking up dog hair, ditch the cheap ones and go straight for a Dyson. I have a Corgi, and the two Dysons I have are the best purchases I made in terms of keeping the amount of fur around the place in check. For the handheld one, I use a DC58.
