[Price Error] Panasonic 3.5kw Air Conditioner Installed for $1099 @ HN+ $200 in Voucher and Rebate (VIC Only)

Moved to Forum so discussion can continue, pricing error: Original Link

UPDATE..
Thanks to our fellow ozbargainers, has confirmed that this was a mistake which I happened to benefit from.
Admin, can you please delete the post as it's not a bargain?

Could not find the ad, hence I'm attaching my receipt as proof.

Was looking around for a 2.5KW reverse cycle and was tempted to jump onto the Fujitsu deal that was posted. Good thing I did not as there is currently a promotion with Harvey Norman that includes standard installation.
I got which comes with a $100 EFTPOS card
http://www.harveynorman.com.au/panasonic-3-5kw-air-condition…

On top of that, for every unit, there's a Panasonic Bonus as well.
https://promotions.panasonic.com.au/2014airconrebate/Default…

As the deal is too good to pass (IMO, its good), I got 2 for myself.

So lets recap on the 'potential' savings …
standard install for 2 x 3.5KW= $1300.00 (That's what's written in a separate tax invoice)
Panasonic Rebate = $200
Harvey Norman EFTPOS card = $200

I paid $2198. So if I still know how to count…It means I'm paying around $2198 - $ 1700 = $498 for 2 3.5KW system.

I wanted to get the 3rd but managed to refrain myself.

Hope this posts benefits the OzB community. Better hurry as it's until this Sunday only.

  • While I see your receipt is showing free install, is there a promotion running? Can't see anything saying free install on the hn website you linked to.

Also is this all areas in vic or just city?

lol, that's some very shonky math… but hey, if you want to convince yourself you only paid $500 then go ahead :)

    • Agreed, but $1100 for a 3.5kw unit installed is still a pretty good deal for a brand named unit when installs are around $600-700 alone!

      • The way I see it, he paid $1600, minus the $200 rebate and the $200 voucher - so that's $1600 minus $400 = $1200. How on earth does he figure $500?!

        • +1

Look again at the receipt, its $1699 for one unit before the instant $600 discount. So he got two brand named units for $2200, fully installed before the other rebates etc

        • he is factoring in what the install would cost if done by octopuss installations as shown in the receipt.

Regardless of the math a pretty decent price

      • no its not, its more like 400, u have to search around

          Care to share?
I'm looking at womo for a reliable installer. Lots of recommendation to ezyair but they charge for a premium $. You can get 10% off w/ online quote. I'm leaning towards them due to bad experience in the past.

Ripper deal if it includes standard install. Could not see any mention of install? How did you do it?

    My final costs were: Fujitsu 2.5kw/3.2kw $790 - $150 Cashback + $600 install = $1240 installed.

Please provide more info on the free install deal.

    • Drb. How you get 790 for the unit?
      Mine is 805$
      Thx

      • See answer below.

    • $600 for install sounds pretty good. I see you're in Sydney, does anyone know an installer on the Mornington Peninsula who can install for around this price?

    • 2.5kw cooling is pretty small.

      • just for 1 bedroom. More than fine.

  • Seems like an error from the HN on free install

    • seems to be the case as HN free installation only apply for the 2 particular models samsung 2.5kw and a Fujitsu.

      • Details on which ones and how to claim it?

      • Where did u see free install details for those 2 models?

      • Moe details please.

    • Have that feeling it was a mistake as well…. Plus there is only one install 'sold' on the receipt so getting that 2nd unit installed if the installed is only paid for one install could be tricky too ;)

  • There s a link in the fujitsu thread where HVAC has it for $790 so price match at TGG.

    • Ouw well
Bought in appliance central per your last deal post
Dont think they got price match policy

      • You got free delivery…I had to go and deal with Sales staff and pick it up and carry myself…which is time and money….you still win!

        • Ouw
          Miss the free delivery tho
Wonder why you didnt buy in AppCntr on the 1st place

  • Hey OP, great of you to post the receipt for the deal…is there not a possibility of someone using your upload to claim the cash back promotion at Panasonic.

    • +1

No; because need to put in the unit serial nos to register a claim. If the serial no is not recognised the system doesn't accept the claim registration.

    • and I masked the receipt number and also the other random stuff.

  • Was in TGG last summer and an installer was in the air conditioning section quoting $800 for a standard install.

Thanks for taking the time to read the post.

As I said 'potential' savings. You can definitely get a cheaper install for 2 units but I don't think I can find a better deal.
Last I heard from the store manager, they can do a free install on any unit but with the caveat of using the web price. At least this was the info I got from the store in QV as of 12pm yesterday.

If you're interested, there's no harm giving HN in QV a call to confirm this. Delivery was nice and prompt. Got my 2 units 7am this morning. I did not mention that I got free delivery as well on top of the free install as I explained to the sales staff that I can't really install the unit if it's not delivered.

So he took off the $60 delivery fee as a sign of goodwill and am a happy customer.

    • Store manager at Taylor Lakes rung qv store & confirmed that it was an error on their side for free installation however they would honour your deal as a one off. Sales person will most likely get in a little trouble but any publicity is good publicity. Anyway, congrats on the purchase. What a bargain! Unless anyone else got the same deal please let me know asap would be appreciated.

      • If it's a price error it's not a deal.

      • So no free install deals? All hot air? Or free install at $1099 which is web price, which is also the price in the title.

  • Went to qv store. That was sales guys mistake!!

Checked hoppers crossing store too.. They can't do it

  • Yep,_ confirmed, price error. Local store wants $600+ for install. Lucky guy.

  • Sorry off topic but does anyone know how much it would cost to regas a 12kw ducted system. Pretty sure I'm running r22 w/ possible leak.
