Shopnate - Alternative to Cashback Site

Hey guys,

I know this site is all about getting the best deal on your purchases and that cashback sites (eg starthere and qwibble) help with that.

Would any of you consider using the site I've created - Shopnate - as an alternative so that instead of getting the cashback yourself, you can instantly donate it to charities?

Shopnate basically allows you to donate to charity every time you shop online. Check it out: www.shopnate.com.au. I would love to hear your feedback!!

I don't mean to spam anyone with my site, I spoke to Scotty (ozbargain) and he suggested that I post here to get an idea of what you guys think.

  I prefer to just get the cash and donate it myself.

  1. get the tax deduction
  2. guaranteed that my money actually goes to charity and one I choose.

  Not saying I don't trust this shopnate site, but just take the chance out, cut out the middle man and DIY.

  Have donated to charity with rewardscentral but that was to earn Exp points. I've seen airline FF points being used too. If QFF had a bonus on donating to charity I'd probably do that too. Just wonder if the charity actually really gets all the points and if they use them all properly. Cash is king again.

  I think the main attraction for Shopnate would be "automated donation" where as a donor you don't think about it. However I do not think it would work well with OzBargainers. As @adamren has already stated, it's better to admin the donation yourself to claim tax deduction and "cut off the middleman". The cashback rate on Shopnate is also less favourable than the 3 major cashback sites we feature on OzBargain (CashRewards, Qwibble and StartHere).
