My Flight Booking Experience

Planning an overseas holiday so used the following apps:

Expedia
Kayak
Skyscanner
Air Asia
Flight Centre web
Adioso web
Lastminute.com.au web

Almost bought a ticket with Bravofly via Skyscanner. Quick google check and too many negative feedback to my liking.

Went to airline website, then lastminute.com.au but decided to price beat with Flight Centre via their 24 hour call centre. Rep asked for email address, never got a quote.

Went to Flight Centre office to price beat. Alas, price doesn't exist anymore.

To be continued…

Anyone can vouch from one of the fare searchers mentioned?

  • I used skyscanner to find a flight plan deal and then went to the airline website directly to book it. I'm sure you could ask for a price match.

  • Beware booking Kayak direct, they us Vayama in the states, a most unsatisfactory company to deal with should you experience difficulties.
I find that Kayak is a great way to discover what is on offer, but i recommend paying the couple of bucks extra and book direct.

  • Flight centre are completely useless. You'd have a better experience with any of the companies you listed.

I use sta travel, it's good or agents.

  • Expedia - is very questionable on how they do pricing, there are good deals there mixed up with bumped prices pretending to be good deals.

I tried to call to ask them about it, they just kept trying to book me. Answer left unanswered

Anyone know of an alternative to Expedia, Wotif doesnt do custom packages anymore

  • Now Cheapoair is showing the lowest fare. Decisions!

    • Always book direct with the airline or hotel is my advice. It's usually the lowest price or close to it and if there are any problems it's usually easier to get them fixed if the booking wasn't made by a third party.

Cheapo is based in the states. I booked a fight with them last year for June this year which was canc in Dec, Cheapo did not notify me nor did they answer my e-mails I found out bout the cancellation in May through a contact , fortunately I was able to amend the flight through the airline direct. (Thanks air India). Nope cheapoair is not worth the hassle if anything goes wrong.

  • Bravofly: Would never come back to book with them. The worst experience!
