I admit that the Chrome is getting slow through the version updates. So I just use some 3rd party browsers instead.
Just use chrome or firefox. Put on adblock at least, possibly flashblock/no script etc.
Also other extenstions
AdBlock probably uses more memory than it saves from not displaying ads — a known memory hog. I have heard µBlock on Chrome is quite efficient, not that I'm using any ad blocker :)
Cheers for info Scotty.
AdBlock can use lots of memory, but adds use so much bandwidth. Given I have more spare memory compared to bandwidth, I defs know which I would rather sacrifice.
Ghostery also stops a lot of tracking. You can whitelist sites if you want to.
Just turn off Ghostrank in the options

Available for most browsers
uswb for the win !!!
Netscape Navigator of course.
Why not Mosaic ?
I couldn't find any information on Mosaic when I searched on Alta Vista
Internet Explorer 9. Its the browser of the Government, therefore it should be the browser of you!
Most departments I've come across lately are still using IE 6
Well, we wouldn't want to upset our trading partners by keeping secrets from them. [g,d,rvf]
Eh we got upgraded and are now on 9. Either that or its 8. Its honestly no different from 6 from our standpoint anyway.
I use Chrome and Firefox the most on my PCs.
I use chrome for browsing. Firefox for other purposes :P
I use Chromium fro browsing [Linux], Chrome for anything that needs Flash, and Firefox with Ghostery, Adblock and NoScript for checking new sites and commercial/private use. I'm looking to try Pale moon:
Chrome is a memory hog, use Firefox for systems with less than 2GB RAM and you will be fine
Chrome?
Firefox 31 (latest version) is bloody terrible. I have issues with flash plugin and FF continues to play the flash content even though the tab is closed (i.e. plugin container continues to run).
Pale Moon is a slimmed down optimised version of Firefox with unneccessary features removed, like legacy CPU support, built in PDF reader and accessability options. It uses less RAM than normal Firefox.
It supports all Firefox addons, unless you use the x64 version which has some limitations.
