Hi all
I usually use wotif.com to search for hotels but it is a little frustrating that I can't select the number of nights and a lot of the hotels have min night stays.
Just curious as to what other OzBargainers use for hotel searching?
Thanks

Thanks neil.
Also try kayak.com.au, it searches different sites to hotelscombined, depending on where you are going it could be useful
for searching:
Travelnow for the search filters
Trivago for the look and feel
& Hotelscombined.
But when it comes to booking…. look here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/114519#comment-1561851
I use Trivago or hotels combined to search and then book through hotels.com
Ive been really pleased with hotels.com, they price match right up to the day of stay and they also give one free night for every 10 booked.
not affiliated in any way, just very happy customer.
Try get membership for LMTclub.com

click coupon on top entry
Are the deals at LMTclub a lot better? Are they only for last minute travel?
Can book months ahead.
It's my go to starting point, and see if I can do better elsewhere from there. (Like Wotif USE to be my starting point.)
Got a great deal for Disneyland area accommodation last year - so good for USA/OS.
AGODA for SEAsia
Hotelscombined and directrooms.com and then I compare the selected hotel with it's home web site. Internationally I also look at a local search engine after using Hotelscombined and directrooms.com. EG asiarooms.com and also after I have selected my hotel I google search it to see what other search engines pop up and whether they have a better price.
Hotels.com used to be a great web site. I am still going to the same destinations, but now I find that Hotels.com prices are no longer competitive. And their constant emails for 'Private Sales" (You are entitled to up to 50% off hotels‏) are rubbish!
Hotel Club membership gives you money back with each stay, can be used for next stay or accumulated. Way better than hotel.com
Yes the rebates are much better and easier to use with H C. And when you redeem them you still earn rewards on the booking. There are rebates with Hotels.com 10% of the 'before taxes' price but you need 10 nights accumulated before can claim 1 night (can claim an average of the 10 previous nights) and you do not earn rewards on the redemption booking.
there is no best site.
Work out where you want to go & then find an Australian wholesaler or agent specialising in the area.
Probably cheaper & you can talk to a real person in Australia.
It never ceases to amaze us, why people think it will be cheaper online.
Why ?
Obviously you don't understand the intricacies of online accommodation booking.
more than most, but wholesalers who specialise will always have better deals, than some site trying to cover the whole world.
Why on earth would you think you'd get the best deal from a search engine.
People think you get the best deal from a search engine because you invariably do.Even better than contacting the hotel as a rule.
I have a better knowledge and larger stake in my own trip than an agent whos dealing with hundreds of clients, and in this day and age it
s easy to be informed.
Good luck finding someone who`s actually been there!
BTW Isn`t necroposting impolite?
Check out the wiki. Hotelscombined usually pulls the best prices.
