I am not 100% sure if this is welcome here so if not please just delete it.

Please follow instructions for it to work.

First you need a Tunnel so you show an US ip.

You can use http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/TunnelBear-Download-22…

Make sure to chose US once installed. Then turn off Java in your browser.

Go to http://promo.kaspersky.com/wvu and fill out the form. It may take 5-10 minutes to load, as long as the page page does not time out stay there please and wait. This is some US university.

Install KIS while the connection is still tunneled using the key you received from Kaspersky. Once installed you can disable/uninstall tunnelbear.

That's it, you have received a 3 year valid KIS key

      Do you get an error message or just nothing happens? If nothing happens that is OK, let it load for 5-10 minutes and it will work

      As said, it takes 5-10 minutes to load, as long as there is no error message all is good.

    my sister had kapersky on her machine and it was causing all sorts of issues when i was install ms sql server express 2014. Had to disable it to make it work. Didn't have any issues with avast. I guess it tries to block more things but didn't get a popup or anything from kapersky, the install just hung.

    Isn't this essentially cracking the software?

    Since you are not supposed to use it via this method… why not just go pirate it if you are going to steal it anyway?

      People use bitdefender promo keys offered for other countries (is: most recent 9 month key for German users)
      It's just that this one requires the IP to be for that country.

    I've tried installing and getting error saying "local security certificate issue" when registering my code.
    Tried re-installing with cyberghost set to USA and still no luck.
    Any ideas anyone?

    You will need to be patient it takes ages to load - twice.
    I got through with my Gmail address.
    Don't forget to turn off your javascript before going to the Uni website.

    Dont't try installing this using cyberghost, use tunnelbear as per OP instructions and registration will work fine (should have just done as I was told in the first place!).
    Disconnected from tunnelbear and tried updating kaspersky from AU IP address and all went fine.

      I used Cyberghost set to a USA server and had no problems.

    Kaspersky activation on retail products is region locked.

    This may or may not be able to be activated from Australia.

    However because it is tied to a .edu email? maybe the region locked thing may not apply? yes/no?

    I reckon there is 99.7% chance of it not being able to be activated from australia.

    I can get free Kaspersky registration via Barclays bank (UK). Used to go through no problem but this year it refused to allow me to use it. Is there a way I can?

    Seems the keys have now been blocked. Mine at least anyways.
    Installed and working fine.
    To start with took me at least 30mins to an hour or more for the page to either load or timeout. Once i finally got it working i think i remember it being around 4 hours from when i started :(
    Sucks to have it blocked but i guess expected lol.
