Not really complaining about my experience, but I'm curious to see if anyone has had a similar experience at Jaycar (or anywhere else).
I called up Jaycar to see if they had any trailer light kits before going into the store, which they said they had. Getting into the store, they actually had another product (not what I was looking for) on the shelf. The item I did need showed up on their system as having 7 in stock, but it was not on the shelf where it should be.
This is where it got interesting. One of the workers at the store said they saw them out back and they eventually found them in "quarantine". The person serving me asked me why I think they're in quarantine… I said I don't know… He said he could still sell it to me if I'd like to take a risk. I asked him several times if I could return it if it was faulty, but I never got a straight answer. His answer was more along the lines of "I wouldn't but it if you don't want to take the risk."
It was all quite strange. Obviously I decided not to buy the item. Has anyone had a similar experience?
What could be so wrong with a trailer light kit??
If he sold you the item and the receipt was not marked faulty or similar then you would have full right to return the item.
It may have been quarantined for some accounting reason… who knows?
Is there a supercheap or repco nearby?
