I managed to get a wii sensor bar for less than $2.50 shipped. Two candles spaced apart will work just fine too.
Regarding the dual shock 3's, I got mine off ebay or dealextreme or one of those sites. $10 shipped. Definitely not up to par with genuine ones, but more than serviceable.
