Was super excited when I thought Fire Emblem awakening was $6.35

    • Sorry changed it to GBA in title, I don't think you'd ever see Awakening at that price though.

      • That's true haha! A man can dream though…

        • 46 is still an okay price for it. Not going to break any records though.

        • @FrankMcFuzz: has it really been cheaper elsewhere?

Lol, did you forget that it's Nintendo you're talking about?

Nope. It's the Fire Emblem that you can use an emulator for free to play.

Which, by the way, makes no sense. It's the 'veteran' sale, and Marth's entry to the sale is a Fire Emblem game he wasn't even in, and to add insult to injury it's the Eliwood (Roy) one, who was cut from SSBB.

      I mean, it's still a god-damn amazing game though :D

free to play or piracy? There is a difference you know.

Well, as the owner of the Fire Emblem GBA game and a proud non-pirate, I can admit, yes, using the ROM is piracy.

But then again, Nintendo really shouldn't be charging almost 10 dollars for 10-20 year old games when you can get brand new games for 2 bucks on all other mobile platforms….. of course, quality is arguable. If they release a bundle of 5 for $10, or even Sacred Stones and Fire Emblem (the 2 GBA titles) in a package for $5, I would jump at it and I already own them both. But they'll never do it, because they're thinking too logically.

However I can say I don't feel bad pirating games I never got the chance to play/weren't available in this country/didn't hear of until a decade after their release and can no longer buy legitimately. I would've never played Earthbound without it, and my gaming experience would've been vastly limited without.

Saturn fall down. Saturn boop nose. Ouch.

@FrankMcFuzz: Well it's not like it is just Nintendo doing it, Sony has alot of PS1 games on their store around $10. I can get brand new games for free on mobile platforms too so that doesn't justify even paying $2.

        • @Venom_TAG: To be fair, the brand new games for free are using (see 'abusing') the freemium model, because it seems to raise popularity of the game. Even slapping 99 cents on a app normally leads to about a fifth as many installs as a free version of the same thing.

And even still, there's nothing on the app stores for 6 bucks that even comes close to Fire Emblems quality (probably nostalgia talking!) so it's all about your perspective of quality vs time. I would greatly support the lowering of the price of a lot of digital Nintendo stuff because I wouldn't be able to stop spending ALL my money of 2 buck snes and GBA games. A metroid package would be particularly appreciated.

@FrankMcFuzz: What I meant with free games was those often price dropped and given away, for example; ultimate mortal kombat 3, shantae, streets of rage, duke nukem, rayman, etc. and also you're wrong to think nothing comes close to that for $6 when Phoenix Wright, Final Fantasy, Megaman, etc have all been available.

        • @Venom_TAG: You had the perfect opportunity to say Objection! and you blew it!

  • No sale on Zelda :/ Owell will pick up fire emblem A. Thanks op

Fire Emblem on GBA is the only semi-bargain on the list I'm interested in.

  • Is it Sacred Stones? I guess i'll just check.

    • Nope. It's the one with Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector. The first GBA game (And, as far as I know, the first one outside Japan?) which is entirely linear with no map screen and way to train between missions. It's teh hardcorez.

  • Silly question, can you buy from the Nintendo eShop on a PC?
Or must it be done on a Wii U?

    • On the Wii U, their eshop page on the Nintendo site doesn't allow purchases.

      • That's a bit primitive..

Was hoping for the SNES version of Donkey Kong.

That would be Donkey Kong Country, but that's what I thought at first too.

  • Is Pokemon Rumble U worth 13 dollars?
