Lucky we were for the past weeks. Petrol price in Sydney maintains in the lower price cycle for longer than my expectation. Confirmed on chart. Who may know the reason/s?
For over the duration of a week, the 3 petrol stations all around the corner of a suburb St Ives (a 7 eleven, a Shell and a Caltex) are selling E10 on 157.9/L while any other petrol stations across Sydney sell between 137.9-141.9. That's like 20 cents/L difference. That's everywhere except these 3. The normal variation lasts a few days between suburbs but this is over a week. No idea why motorists are still queuing up to fill up on rush hours. ???
Know it is a free trade market. However, hope this is a one off and not a new tactic from Big Petrol to maximise profit after knocking off the tooth of ACCC. Please not on retirees who cannot drive to the next suburb.
