I've had a friend have his travel agency go insolvent and he's lost his flight booking to SYD->DUBAI->AMAN->SYD.
(He might've been going via Perth as well, I'm not sure) (and no, he didn't have travel insurance)
I was wondering if anyone had some advise regarding getting a cheap booking for his family. They are looking to fly in September, and the flights are all priced now at a premium.
Any ideas?

I think he's treating the insolvent agent and lost tickets (that were booked but then cancelled - an act of bankruptcy in its own right imo) as a separate issue.
He still wants to go on holidays, and can somehow afford to buy new tickets, so is looking for a good deal.
Any suggestions?
Looking for a good deal generally means booking what's on special. The airlines make more money when you have to go to a particular destination at a certain time (i.e. school holidays, christmas, last minute bookings).
No Dubai suggestions, I know there are some great prices to Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam at the moment. Could probably hop from Singapore/Kuala Lumpur to Dubai easily enough if wanted. Look at Scoot, anything with Malaysia Air if you want full service at a good price.
I think registered travel agents have insurance against this event happening… Sorry I cannot offer more info.
