Hi everybody :o)
My name is Gunnar, and this is my first post on OzBargain. I'm a Canadian who moved to Sydney last November, and I'm loving it here. However, it's time for a quick break from routine and I'd really like to treat my partner to a few days in Thailand, hopefully in September.
I've researched a few sites like Bestjet, Expedia, and Wotifia, and I'm not terribly picky, but I just don't get that sense that I'm finding any great deals. I would prefer anyplace besides Phuket if possible.
I suppose my question is not only, "Can anyone help me find 5-8 nights in Thailand, including flights?" but also, "What would a Sydneysider consider to be a great deal for such an adventure?"
Thanks everyone and have a great day :o)
beware late September hits school holidays, so prices won't be cheap at that end of the month.
$790 return on Qantas direct to Bangkok is pretty good given it's only a few weeks away (but you'll need to check availability)
Air Asia starts about $530, but you'll need to add that bags, food and seats, so you'll be in the 600 range for sure.
Scoot is slightly dearer, but could have a couple of days in Singapore if you wanted.
As for where to go in Thailand, well you'll have to give us more info on what you want to achieve.
You've ruled out Phuket, but does that just mean ruling out Patong?
Koh Samui is good, as is Khao Lak. Could also give Hua Hin a go, plus a few days in Bangkok.
What's your budget for flights & accom?
