Looking at grabbing a truck hire for several days through Budget, anyone got any discount coupon codes or similar? I have to drive from Sydney to Lismore and they're quoting me around $1100!
They apparently put them out in travel mags and newsletters etc.

Thanks Davo, have that site bookmarked from when it was originally up - is a good one - but I'm pretty certain they only do regular cars and also motorhomes….not the 3 ton trucks, which I'm looking for.

Europcar might be your best bet. I recently looked into 3 tonne moving vans with a hydraulic lifter on the back. Europcar have $69/day rates for more than 1 day. Mon-Thu only and until October 09.

Thanks for the suggestions guys BUT I have to go with Budget as they're the only ones in SYD that stock the 3 ton trucks in AUTO - embarrassingly I don't drive a manual! Also where I'm driving to, Lismore, they're the only ones with outlets there - though the one way fees are still a killer!!!!!!
So still looking for any Budget Coupon codes pleeeeease! :-)

Maybe it costs less if you return the vehicle to Byron Bay or Ballina after you finish at lismore? Maybe this will also increase the number of companies you can hire from?
