Centrex CTW 45268 4.5 kg Auto Washer problem: Machine won't start

Recently we got an working Centrex CTW 45268 Top Load Washer for few bucks from Gumtree, but it is not working after 2 usage (after 14 days). Power is coming on but the machine is not filling the tub with water. Note that we only use cold water in washing machine and it worked fine on this too.

We use washing machine once a week, so buying a new one is not an economic option for us. Can OZB members suggest some quick fix? Thanks in advance.

Update: Fixed! Turns out the latch mechanism of the top cover is broken. This restricts the water to fill the tub as there is a trigger mechanism which is unable to kick in.

    Have you tried filling it by hand (bucket) and seeing if it works.

    Not ideal but it would get you going for a while

      Even if it works, will that be permanent fix? e.g. pouring water manually.

        Maybe, but it at least tells you something. That being is it the filling mechanism, or maybe it wont fill because the motors gone, or the logic board is dead etc.

        If it works, you do have at least the ability to do some washing, until you can find out what it will cost.

    Just wondering, how much vibration is normal for washing machine?
