    Actually I'd guess that this would be bad for your 'bulk phase' (summer should be shred phase for Stereosonic anyway), as it only has 18% protein.
    Good price anyway though.

    • Just before summer

    • That is a terrible ratio of protein to carbs. Much better buying something else and having a bowl of ice cream with it! 40% sugar wow!

        Its complex carbs , slow releasing which is different that sugar

        Good for those intense leg sessions

          No it isn't. Dextrose monohydrate (the main ingredient) is sugar.

          You're much better off combining whey concentrate and powdered oats from bulknutrients.com.au than drinking this garbage.

          @ComfortablyNumb:

          Not many people do this, but the correct or advised post workout drink IS whey and sugar (dextrose/maltodextrin) in a 1:2 ratio protein/carbs.

          I don't know if this product fulfils that requirement but 18% is roughly half of 40%, so I would say it may, I just wonder what the rest is.

          The emphasis is on the very fastest protein and carbs - hence, it is generally whey isolate (and if you want to go further, whey hydrosylate) plus sugar.

          Whether you do this is your prerogative. I am only conveying information that can easily be found elsewhere. It isn't necessarily easy to chug say, 40g protein and 80g of sugars.

          That is why places sell big bags of dextrose and maltodextrin, by the way - they aren't selling it to idiots - they are selling it to people who are using it pre and post (further wisdom is that the drink should be made up and 50% consumed before and 50% after).

          John Berardi is a good source for this

          finally , someone that knows what they are talking about :)

        • @easternculture:

          Be careful with complex carbs by the way, maltodextrin, which is in a lot of stuff is a complex carb, and is not reported as sugar (and is likely the other 20g of carbs in that product, producing an unfavourable ratio) but does absorb just as fast as sugar (high GI).

          In my opinion, you'd be better off buying whey + sugar (dextrose and some maltodextrin), or failing that a bunch of instant skim milk powder from coles (and amusingly, this product seems to consist of that).

          Maltodextrin is a pretty evil secret of the food world. High GI and not represented as sugar. Once you know, you see it everywhere in a lot of stuff.

        • @LordRichington: Great explanation, thanks!

          @LordRichington:

          Thanks LordR

          Im only planning to use this for intense leg and arm workouts.

          i also do 1 hr cardio per day (burn 700+ calories easily) so i can burn that sugar off easily.

          Im at 80kg today with a flat stomach but no abs ATM, but not too fussed as i still have 2+ months till summer when i start those fat burners (Yohimbine, Green Tea extract, Clenbuterol)

          @easternculture:

          Yohimbine Clenbuterol

          I'm not going to bother replying to all the broscience, but I suggest that you do some reading and get your diet and training in check before you start taking illegal drugs.

          @ComfortablyNumb:

          Its working for me so im not complaining

          Clen is not illegal, its just not approved for human use.

          The yohimbe is from a fat burner I bought from overseas. Bought a bulk amount cause it was on special and when I recieved it, I was surprised it contained a generous dose of yohimbine hcl per serving . Its called VPX redline ultra hardcore

          @LordRichington:

          The reasoning behind ingesting simple carbs post-workout is that it spikes endogenous insulin levels. In reality, this has a negligible effect. Studies have shown that meal timing is irrelevant… Ingesting protein supplements post-workout has no positive impact on protein synthesis. Overall daily macronutrient consumption is the only thing that matters.

          Do some research on peer-reviewed articles and you'll find that the vast majority of supplements are scams.

          From my experience every body is different. What works for me may not work for you. Ive been training for 7 years and I know what my body likes. Everyone is unique genetically and rate of metabolism differs from one to other.

          Clen is not illegal, its just not approved for human use.

          Clenbuterol is a Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug as stipulated in the Drugs Misuse Regulation 1987. It is also approved for human use as a bronchodilator. Please do not talk about things you know nothing about.

          Considering you're only 80kg at 15%+ body fat, you do not need drugs. As I said before, get your diet in check and train properly.

          As per above, i know what im talking about. There are better broncodilators that they use for humans. I work in the health industry so i know alot

    A good source of protein for the haters is chicken.
    Take off the fat and bulk up on good old chicken.

    Or, Just buy the deal.
    And if your worried about sugar then workout harder to burn it off.

    Eating good quality foods beats all this crap.

    If you must use 'bulking' powders - Buy pure WPI and dextrose in bulk and save your money compared to this crap.

    • True. All this is supplementary. Eat good and clean and support your diet by supplements if u need to.
