Best Mini-Notebook under $400-$500?

I'm talking about the type of computer like: EEE, the Acer AOA150 (about $370), Acer AOD250 (about $500), MSI Wind etc.

I like the AOA150. I can get it for about $350 it seems with:

Intel ATOM 1.6GHz 1GB RAM 120GB 8.9" Webcam XP H Netbook

I am hoping it comes with XP, unless the XP is part of the laptop part number.

I want more than 7" screen, and max 10" or less.

Mainly using for when I travel for web browsing, documents (pdf, word, excel etc).
Is the MSI Wind worth the extra $100?

      thanks mate, but that shows mainly 14", 15" etc.
      I see COTD has one today for $629… hmmm… more than I wanted to spend but specs look good. Maybe too advanced for what I am looking for. I already have 15" laptop, just need something simple for travelling

    The Acer AOA150 (8.9" / HDD / XP) for the mid$300s will probably be the best bang4yourbuck, else it's a jump up to the $500 mark for the newer 10"ers as you say.
    I'm using an AOA110 (8.9" / SSD / Linux) which is great as a highly portable and light basic netbook, but the battery is only good for about 2&1/2 hrs.
    There have been a few good deals on 7" EEE 701s in the low $200s lately, and CotD are promo'ing a deal for it next week at $199, but you did say that you want more than a 7"er.

      thanks for the info. yea the AOA150 seems like it may be the way to go for me.
      I would prefer one with Windows. Looks like the COTD one is a Windows one - looks tempting at $200 but the size (7") might put me off. Will have to think about it.

      Hi TeaEarlGreyHot, Yeah I saw that while it was still available and was close to getting it because after researching online, it was a good price for what you get. But I probably dont need one so advanced so will probably get something around $400 price range. It sold out quick so must be good.

    Best way is to keep track of the netbook tag (there seems to be lots of deals on netbooks lately).
